Barrett Jackson Scottsdale 2024
Anyone recommend a close Hotel that has a Golf course? What about some great places to eat dinner Thursday, Friday and Saturday? I'm taking my (2) Sons on a first time trip for all of us to see how the other half lives (I've been a Mecum Guy my whole life). Any input would be helpful Bill

I go here quite frequently for concerts.
https://www.talkingstickresort.com/ Pavilions is on the other side of the 101. TONS of awesome places in Scottsdale for dining. |
Preston’s for any beef meal. Hands down the best restaurant steak I have ever had. Dry aged deliciousness. They have a little burner candle under your French onion soup to keep it war. Dry ice show for your shrimp cocktail. You get what you pay for in your meal. I’m looking to go since I’m reasonably close (SoCal). Now I’m hungry. Make reservations or go I about an hour before they close.

There is no shortage of resort hotels with Golf Courses near Westworld where Barrett-Jackson is. In fact there are condos and hotels around TPC Scottsdale where you can stay and the parking for Barrett-Jackson is right there. (A bus takes you from the parking lot to the auction). Another option is Kierland. It is a Westin resort and has a golf course. It is walking distant to a plethora of restaurants and is a short drive to Westworld.
As Charlie mentioned the Pavillions car show is on Saturday. It is always worth it to see that car show. I think you will find that Scottsdale Auction week and Barrett- Jackson are a step or two up from the Mecum events |
You may want to call and check availability for the dates around the auction. I would assume that those dates fill up fast.
That being said, there are lots of places to stay along the 101 and 202 fwy's within a 15 to 20 mile range.... |
When Dave and I went we stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn Scottsdale North - very very close to Westworld and several golf courses (not attached to the Hotel though)

Thanks for all the feedback. We are staying at the Omni is all I know so far arriving Thursday Morning the 25th playing golf Thursday afternoon and returning Sunday the 28th. Other than that we are wide open. Pavilions on Saturday Morning? Thanks again, Bill

Pavilions is Saturday late afternoon-evening.
|
During the auction week...people get to Pavilions...early in the morning
|
also - the other auction houses have open house to view their cars as well during that week - usually wed , thurs and friday afternoons.
and of course sat for pavilions, starting at noon on saturday |
Pavilions is an afternoon/evening thing.

Some other considerations for leaving Westworld for Pavilions.
Typically, you will miss seeing some significant cars cross the block. Saturday pm is Prime Time there, great atmosphere. In my experience if the weather is 50s, windy, etc. the Pavilions turnout is poor. |

my boss goes to Mecum & jackson often. he is a very high roller. His thing is resto mods.Be carful if you are buyng. He has been burned more than a few times by dishonist sellers.
The auction house is not involved in the problems. He bought a 1960 resto mod for 100,000 dollars and two years later it is just sitting collecting dust.Short storry, cracked block and major electrical problems. |
