Anyone going to Chicago World of Wheels this weekend?

I have a bunch of friends showing cars this weekend, two of them are part of a US30 section. Mike Alberts will have his 67 yellow/black Camaro there.

Mike's Camaro is Legendary! As a teenager I had thought it was a Motion Car becuase of the way it was striped.

Nice pic of the car, I recognize that Nova too.

I'll probably go Saturday.

Makes me feel old, I haven’t been there since 1974.

dykstra 03-03-2023 09:12 PM

I remember that Camaro! Bad Azz for sure!

Just came back from helping a friend set up,always enjoy this show.Wish I took pics over the last 40 + years.Who knew it would still be going this strong.

Show was great, something for everybody. The US30 section had a lot of cars, my favorite section.

Bill Pritchard 03-05-2023 01:20 AM

I think Mike Alberts Camaro is trying to outdo the "Shake Rattle & Run" 57 Chevy for longevity.

Pro Stock John 03-05-2023 01:23 AM

Was great to see Shake there too, is it the original one?

They had an Ed Roth display, Obitron some other cars, and some Barris Munster cars. I was most interested in the US30 section, there were maybe 30 cars in that area.

Here are some pics a buddy took:

Thanks for posting!!

TimG 03-06-2023 12:11 AM

That would be a good reason to head back to Rosemont in early spring......

Too Many Projects 03-06-2023 12:23 AM

Damn cool stuff, thanks for the pics. I know what you mean about not taking pics. I can walk all around MCACN with a camera in my pocket and be so absorbed in what I am looking at to not think about taking pics.:dunno:

Pro Stock John 03-06-2023 01:32 AM

WoW is always a diverse mix of cars, some MCACN type cars, lots of modified muscle cars, imports, a few super cars, motorcycle section, some donks, a low rider section, truck section, and upstairs was mostly late model imports that were tricked out. Show was the biggest I've ever seen it.

dykstra 03-06-2023 11:33 AM

I didn’t realize the show was in Rosemont? I’m looking at the pics and thought to myself, I recognize that backdrop!!!!

Sadly, one of the guys who showed his car in the US30 section died on the way home from the show.

Friends are saying he may have had a medical issue and then crashed. RIP Wally Staszko.

TimG 03-06-2023 10:32 PM

That's horrible news.

Geez, no kidding.

Sorry to hear/see this. Condolences to his family.

Bill Pritchard 03-07-2023 12:59 AM

Wow, what a shame. Rest in peace, sir.

Pro Stock John 03-07-2023 01:13 AM

Per a buddy the guy was following another WoW show car, rear ended it, and then when off the road, was seenslumped over the steering wheel. Sad deal.

scuncio 03-07-2023 03:47 AM

Ugh, that's terrible. Condolences to his family.
