Is Roger D's car selling at this auction?

Thanks Gregg

DWR 01-13-2022 01:12 AM

Lot f254 Friday.

Chevelle SS 396 L78 01-13-2022 01:19 AM

Been some nice Camaros cross the block! I'd love to be there, for the weather if nothing else!

EZ Nova 01-13-2022 11:30 AM

I've been following the results online. Number seem pretty strong on average this year from what I seen. YES there were some good buys too. But on average there bringing some strong numbers I think.

dykstra 01-13-2022 11:43 AM

I’m shocked to see the 78-81 Camaros bringing strong money amongst others.

msclassiccars 01-13-2022 01:51 PM

It seems like a lot of the less expensive cars are bringing strong money compared previous auctions.

EZ Nova 01-13-2022 03:10 PM

REALLY, 2 guys must have REALLY needed this? And it's even missing a lower trim piece on passenger side behind the front wheel? But what do you want for $71,500 with buyers premium?????

Even though most seem to be bring in strong $$$. MOST of what I'm looking at on there site, the "estimate" still seem higher then MOST, not all that I have clicked on??

GM Powertrain 01-13-2022 08:38 PM

Classic car market has officially jumped the shark. That thing will be for sale for $25,000 when the market adjusts. Comical.

The Lemans blue '69 Z/28 went for $147,500

I'm pretty sure that's not a deluxe interior ! Was this car really a '2016 MCACN Concours Gold' winner ?

Pusher_Man 01-14-2022 03:52 AM

Hate to say it but check out the trim tag on T201. FAKE

How would you like to pay nearly 150k for a fake Z?

Or, pay 300k last year for a fake silver COPO?

Simply amazing.

MYSTERYCHEVELLE 01-14-2022 12:11 PM

I have not an ounce of sympathy for these buyers. I’m sorry but it’s really easy to find reputable people in the hobby to verify or authenticate any of these cars.

EZ Nova 01-14-2022 05:27 PM

https://www.mecum.com/lots/FL0122-48...limited-wagon/

AMC Eagle wagon with 72,000 MILES for $35,200.

EZ Nova 01-14-2022 05:28 PM

How many kilos of nose candy were hiding inside of this one?

RALLY 01-14-2022 06:38 PM

Lots of great Camaro's, Chevelle's for sure. Unreal the prices on these cars. Market is still strong.

69hurstSC 01-14-2022 06:39 PM

It looks like the Omaha Orange '69 hemi RR hammered for 175K. That looks to be a new record for a hardtop.

I know, STANGE market! I've notice 99% of the estimates on original classics and not being met. Then this road runner blows right past there projected estimate.

I see a bunch of the classics with a BID GOES ON when there under the estimated value? So wonder if the the estimate somehow ties in with the reserve????

Just trying to figure out the market as might be a player this time next yr for a '68 GTX convert and a '67 427 'Vette.

lycan 01-14-2022 07:33 PM

Seems like the $100K ~ $250K market is strong ... but many $1M+ cars failing to meet reserve.

MYSTERYCHEVELLE 01-14-2022 09:05 PM

And when you see what looks like a Beautiful 70 LS6 go over the block and not sell for the money of others. Remember: That’s also not an accurate reflection of the market. It may just mean…. People did their due diligence and that’s a great thing.

"Website says $297,000?"

$270K + 10 percent buyers fee, I suppose.

Prices are crazy.

GMC_Typhoon 01-15-2022 12:46 AM

It's fun watching all these $6000 cars sell for $150k.

the427king 01-15-2022 01:09 AM

Inflation is around 20%, thats an increase of 60K on a 300k car just to keep up with last years prices .

Yes, website prices include buyer premium....I was stating hammer price.

lowmile 01-15-2022 02:47 PM

There have been big corrections of the market in the past. Can you imagine what the next one is going to look like....

The new owner of that car may or may not care but do a search on the VIN.
A few posts uncover alot of fraud on this car.

VIN 124379N561026

Around 2008 this car surfaced as a z28 for sale after it was sold on ebay as a X55 SS350.

Then someone decided to Flattened out the 55 and make it a 77 over it.
They didnt like that so they had a repop tag made up using the same body number 206120
Looks like the current auction cowl tag is another repop using NOR206120 but is X33D80. 12B. 71-B

So this car was a 72-B X55, then and is now a71-B X33D80 and sold for $148,500 plus premium. WTH??

Is the VIN 124379N581026 or 124379N561026? The sticker in the window appears to show the latter. I noticed the fake trim tag when I was looking at the pictures online. It's not the only Camaro in that collection with a fake tag.
