'67 Camaro RS/SS #s 350/3-sp Stick, Bench Seat, Nicely Equipped

How interesting to see a bench-seat, 3-speed manual '67, with a number of nice options. Seems like a pretty fair deal for a California car with a great color combo and original drivetrain.

Neat combo, would someone have selected the bench and 3 speed to keep the total cost down?

scuncio 11-02-2021 03:28 AM

Must have been...interesting choice for sure.

Xplantdad 11-02-2021 07:51 PM

I like it!!

----That could have been one way, but look at all the other options that were ordered. AC, deluxe interior, etc. I had a friend who's 1st car (a 65 mustang coupe with the 4-barrel option, but with a 3-speed). He was a little wary of being able to drive a 4-speed and thought a 3-speed would be a way to learn. His next car was a 67 Mustang fastback with 390 4-speed and a bench seat. Who knows?....Bill S

Charlierogers 11-02-2021 10:29 PM

that sure is a crisp cowl tag!

jeffschevelle 11-03-2021 04:43 AM

That's a cool combo. Reminds me a little of a 67 Firebird 400 I had briefly. 400, posi, AC, Tinted glass, PS, PB, PW, Tilt, FM, Deluxe interior with buckets and console, Deluxe belts, fold down rear seat, space-saver spare. And a 3-speed manual !! With POP. And PHS report confirmed it came that way.

Story I was told was that the insurance was cheaper on a 3-spd so the young original buyer ordered it that way. Seems like it ought to have been even cheaper on an automatic, but who knows? I am more inclined to speculate someone ordered the car and asked for the "3 speed" meaning they wanted a TH400, but salesman messed up. Moot point now since I came to my senses and sold it!

White car with red guts, went to the northeast somewhere. Anybody know its current whereabouts? Probably not another one still out there equipped that way.

In 67 and 68 a 3 or 4 speed stick or powerglide were the only options with a small block. 3 speed stick was probably standard. 4 speed and PG optional.

I've always liked the Camaro bench seat.Ad says H.D.3 speed....was it H.D.?

Probably was behind a 295 hp 350, just as the Muncie was the 4 speed over the Saginaw. 275 hp was the limit for the Sag.

It could have been an oversight, or for insurance, as said, OR, as happened many times, the customer/salesperson "assumed" an SS with manual trans would come with a 4 speed. Doesn't seem like that with all the other options ordered, but never say never.
It is a neat, unique, car...

Relisted in the link below for $45k obo.

If this is in fact the original paint, I think the asking price is close to ballpark. Would be an awesome car if you could land it in the $35-37k range.

Fly into Duluth, rent a car and drive to IF..:hmmm:

cook_dw 11-12-2021 05:35 PM

It's not that simple. I'm not a player either way but I do like the car. I'll say this; if anyone is interested make sure you talk to the seller first before hitting the BIN button.

napa68 11-12-2021 06:02 PM

It looks like it could be a good car. I really have a hard time with a seller for whatever reason, cannot take his own pics. It looks like all of those pics were from the prior seller.

And now it does not run? It just does not feel right to me. I believe it was Tony that pegged the car at 35-37k. That would be a far better number.

The current seller is even further off of the grid than me:laugh:

I was thinking about this car last night and it became clear to me that this was owned by “Niblet” who was banned from this site.

I did but I haven't been around long enough to know who niblet is.

Why sell it as a none runner if it just needs the carb installed, plug wires installed and timing set? That's 30 minutes of work if you're slow.

Agreed

Pro Stock John 11-16-2021 03:56 PM

Super dumb not to get it running. Those chip'shoulder comments at the end are a big turnoff, it's like a great way to tell people you are going to be difficult to deal with.

chris slawski 11-16-2021 07:20 PM

definitely has his bloomers in a twist.

cook_dw 11-16-2021 10:16 PM

Idk if he’s talking about me or even this forum. But I have been very complimentary of the car. I all meant was do the leg work and talk to the seller. :hmmm::hmmm:

Pretty car wish him luck with the sale. He just needs to dial the attitude down. Smoke some dope or something. :rolleyes2:

chris slawski 11-17-2021 03:02 PM

granted we all get protective of our "mechanical" children but i would not even bid, if i were going to, due to the comments the seller posted...he must be spending too much time on facebook, or craigslist.
