I don't know of any paperwork.

Stubbings has some highly desirable stuff, but his prices are crazy. He has an LS6 basket case that he wanted 80k for. Supposedly all the original drive train was included, but it needed a LOT of work on the body to restore. His web site claims he sent it out for restoration. Be interesting to see the price on that, when done.
He also has a couple highly optioned '67 ss/rs basket cases that the prices are quite high for the condition.

He has gotten some of my money for Camaro parts. He had a decent sale around Halloween with 20% off all the parts I needed to complete the traction bar on my Camaro. In the past, only some of the pieces were on sale, so I waited. Saved about $120 from the list prices..

SuperNovaSS 12-15-2020 11:42 PM

He is a real person and you have to put a price on stuff. I imagine if you wanted a few items and pick up the phone things would change a bit. Everyone wants a deal, if you start at the rock bottom than happy buyers would be few and far between.

I saw the car in person last week. It is a 100% legit survivor L89 car. The car looks great in the pictures, but present a lot better in person.

Updated post;

SURVIVOR 1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS 396-375 hp L-89 Aluminum Head car, 4-Sp 4.10 26,110 Original miles Survivor. Fathom Green Original Paint.

Heartbeat City is pleased to offer this extremely rare survivor unrestored Fathom Green 1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS 396-375 HP L-89 Aluminum head car with 26,110 original miles. This Camaro has the original JJ coded 396-375 HP Aluminum head engine, Original Muncie M-21 4 Speed transmission, and Original 4.10 BV rear axle assembly. All of which are the very same drive train that General Motors installed in the car at the Norwood Ohio factory assembly plant in January of 1969.

Factory Options: 1969 Camaro all original SS 396-375 hp, L-89 Aluminum heads, 4 speed Muncie Close ratio transmission, 4.10 BV coded Posi traction rear end, Standard black interior, fast ratio steering, front & rear spoiler package, heavy duty 4 core Harrison radiator, console with gauges, dash mounted 6000/7000 tachometer, center dash mounted clock, and Rally wheels.

Engine: The original engine pad stamping T1221JJ and original VIN number 19N575023 is still intact on the side of the engine block. The very last pictures in this auction show close up views of the engine VIN and Transmission VIN. This is not a re-stamped or bogus engine in any way shape or form. Please see the paragraph below for our letter of authenticity.

Transmission: The M-21 Close Ratio transmission is the original Muncie that General Motors installed in the car at the factory in 1969. The production date on the side of the transmission is P9T28. This indicates the transmission was assembled on December 28th, 1969.

Rear Axle: The original 4.10 BV coded rear axle is still in the car and has never been removed to my knowledge. The casting date on the housing is A-3-9. This means the housing was casted on January 3rd 1969. The assembly date is BV0108G1 E. The assembly date stamping means the rear axle was assembled on January 8th 1969 and the BV indicates a 4.10 Posiwas installed. The G stands for Gear and Axle Plant. The “E” indicates Eaton for the positraction unit. Please see pictures for a close up view of the axle production date.

Body & Sheet metal: All body panels are genuine GM original parts. The floor pan, trunk pan, and rocker panels are all original GM and have not been replaced or patched. No sheet metal or body panels have ever been removed or replaced on this car.

Interior: The Standard black interior in this car is the original front and rear standard black seat covers, Original front & rear door panels, and all trim are original. The seat foams and seat backs are original and nice. Please see all pictures of the interior. The steering wheel in crack free and still retains all of the original pebble grain on the edge of the wheel. The carpet was replaced a few years back.

Suspension: This Camaro still has all of the original front and rear suspension parts from the sub-frame bushings to the leaf springs. Nothing has been altered or changed in any way except the shock absorbers have been changed to none spiral shocks at one point in the car's life.

Factory Original Components with date codes: I have taken the time to note each and every component on this ultra rare Camaro. History:

I found this Camaro in Novi Michigan back in 1994. One of my friends told me about the car. I waited all week to go view the car. Needless to say, I was stunned to find such a rare car in this condition. It is not often that you find a car this rare and this original. I checked every casting number, casting date, and every code. The only components I couldn't solve were the wheels. None of the wheels on the car are dated or coded for this car. I suspect the original wheels were the XT stamped steel base wheel. I never thought to ask any of the previous owners about the wheels that would have come on the car from the factory. In 1994 I wrote to the State of Michigan department of motor vehicles. At that time, they would furnish you with all the previous owners, titles, and registrations both front and back, and ownership history. The owner history is intact and will be provided to the purchaser. I still have the receipt for all the history, and certifications from the State of Michigan. Due to the Privacy Act, we can no longer obtain such information. I have all of it for this car.

Letter of Authenticity:

This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Vehicle number 124379N575023 is an original 1969 body manufactured by General Motors Corporation in 1969. This is an authentic 1969 Chevrolet SS 396-375 HP L-89 Aluminum head car. I have not in any way altered any the VIN numbers, The Trim Plate (Paint Tag) and I do not have any knowledge whatsoever of any re-stamped parts or the re-stamping of any VIN numbers on the engine or transmission. I state that the engine and transmission is the original engine and transmission General Motors installed in this 1969 Chevrolet Camaro in the year 1969.

I further agree that no alterations have been made to this Camaro’s body with regards to changing any identification numbers or manufacturer’s codes.

Price: $139,995.00

It looks like a great legit car at a fair price. I have been looking at the listing for the past week and a half. If my wife were out of town, I'd be very tempted to pull the trigger and deal with the fallout.

Z282NV 12-16-2020 06:19 PM

Very nice original Camaro, I wish I had the funds to buy it.

Can someone explain the trunk pictures to me. It appears to me that there is trunk splatter paint on the truck lid hinge support bracket(s) but it then just stops and then there is no splatter paint in the rest of the trunk area. Is this something the GM factory would do?

That would work, until she took the car in the divorce...
I've bought a few project cars under 5k with the "better to ask forgiveness than permission" program but $140,000..:eek2:

That is an anomaly to only have so little spatter in the trunk. Having worked an assembly line, there is only a given amount of time the vehicle is in your "station" to get everything you are assigned done. Either the spray gun ran out of spatter, and there wasn't time to get it spraying after a drum change or the installer ran out of time.

Aren´t you still dealing with the fallout from the 67? Brave man...

Wow what a beautiful car. I wouldn’t touch a thing on it. Leave it alone.
I’m going to win the lottery tomorrow then I can buy it. Lol

Looks like the trunk has been repainted.
Same with the underside of the hood.

m22mike 12-17-2020 11:03 PM

I was thinking the same on the trunk Kurt

Steve Shauger 12-17-2020 11:30 PM

It was pretty obvious, look at the side marker light. Certainly typical spray bomb painting used to prevent rust.

I remember an original paint fathom green 69 L89 which had rust holes in the quarters and if not mistaken the fenders as well...
I am under the assumption that these are two different fathom green L89's, especially after seeing that the ad specifically states that it wears original panels and they haven't been patched.

Danzo 12-22-2021 10:33 PM

The trans stamp is hard to see but shouldn't the P9T28 stamp have a "B" at the end for M21?
Thanks, Doc.

Yes it should

I've seen stampings like that are close to the raised area cause the letter to be distorted, I bet a better picture might show part of the missing letter.

I bought a lot of nos parts for my 68 L89 several years ago. Also traded him some that I had accumulated over the years. Talked with Jim several times on rest info.. Always treated me right. He had the car a long time.
