Reading of his endeavors in The Right Stuff as well as his autobiography helped steer me into aviation.

RIP General.

Wow! He was a mans man. I was at an airshow at Edwards when he went up to break the sound barrier for everyone. Awesome to see and hear. Kinda weird he passed on Pearl Harbor remembrance day. R.I.P. Chuck :flag:

Chuck also had a 69 Camaro Pace Car.

May he rest in peace. I saw him more than once at our local Chevy dealership when I was in there having a car serviced. I think he hung out there a lot. This was back when he did ads on TV for GM's Mr. Goodwrench service if I remember right. He always had a GM Goodwrench cap on and drove a Corvette. He lived in Grass Valley, CA right next to the city I live in.

----I think I'm as sad as I can remember. I have all kinds of Chuck's posters, paintings and other stuff directly related to him. This is as sad a day as when our beloved Bouvier was put down. I absolutely mean that as a sincere feeling, no joke! I think of our old girl every day. Thanks so much, Charley!.....Bill S

Words are hard to describe how incredible that greatest generation was. I'm proud many of our Dad's were part of that great generation. Agree 100% Steve! RIP Sir.........

Didn't every young boy have a model of the X15 hanging in their room in the 50"s ?? And we all knew darn well who the man was that flew it... Sad to see him go, but he did live a full and adventurous life.
