OMG...This has got me wanting a Bug
Tell me this bug hasn't got "right on brother" written all over it.

be nice if you could fit into it!

Nicely done Bug! I have a soft spot for Bugs. My first car was a '63 Bug.

I have always wanted one myself. Growing up my Dad always seemed to have two of them in the driveway. One being his everyday car and a junker for parts. The junker was always unlocked and I spent many an afternoon being behind the wheel pretending to drive it. Great memories!!! Rob

I saw that car last year at Hot August Nights in Reno...it is fantastic. Has a 215 aluminum Buick and straight pipes, sounds wicked.

Thank you Sir for that link. The rest of the car screams the same high end design and implementation as the topside. I love the Buick dash, drive line and of course those Buick Special portholes that tie it all together on the outside.
Wicked wicked car! https://st.hotrod.com/uploads/sites/...nd%7C596%3A447 https://st.hotrod.com/uploads/sites/...nd%7C596%3A447 |
You are welcome. The car is outstanding, I remember it did well in the show car competitions and there are Ridler Award class cars at HAN. But hearing it run was best.

That's killer. Took some creative thinking to come up with a Buick-Bug combo.

My son daily drives a 65 bug. We've had an air cooled VW powered sand rail for years that I tool around town in as well as adventure off road. Always liked the engines for their simplicity, cheap to build, easy to work on, and have always been dead nuts reliable for us.

I'm so glad you guys appreciate the old VWs, even though the Berlin Buick retains little of the air cooled charm. As a kid I rode around in my dad's 67 Beetle and was always curious when he was working on it. We always had a few of them laying around the yard and I developed my own VW collection by my late teens. I sold them all the week I brought home my first 68 Camaro. I rekindled the love when I started racing Formula Vee's in the early 2000's.

I have a thing for the "Dung Beetle" that is driven by Azn on Street Outlaws
|
LOL
A lot of sleeper beetles out there. There are several running around our neck of the woods that'll embarrass some street cars. Doesn't take much to make them respectable. They only weigh 1500-1600 lbs. Pretty easy to make 150hp with a mild stroker, not much money to do it, and they turn into easy 12 or 13 second sleepers that are a ball of fun to drive. |
I started out as a bug guy and still go to the vw shows when I can. The Motion Performance Mini VW stuff was always interesting to me as well.
