Friend is looking at it. Near me in Jersey. Whats its worth?

big gear head 05-26-2018 02:10 AM

Wow, I don't know what it's worth, but I'd love to have it.

markjohnson 05-26-2018 02:23 AM

I'd delete those VIN photos cuz right now people are doing New Jersey title searches on it to locate it.

scuncio 05-26-2018 02:46 AM

Seriously, pull those VIN pics.

Fast67VelleN2O 05-26-2018 02:49 AM

Pull the vin pics now!!!!! And I'm from NJ lolol Great car!!!!

flyingn 05-27-2018 12:24 AM

the pics are pulled but seriously no one will locate it. Its been off the road for decades.

Reminds me of 10+ years ago when someone said the "Lear Jets" are flying to where a car had been found because someone posted vital info on said car.

Don't bet on it......

iluv69s 05-27-2018 10:06 AM

I bought and resold a similar 'garage find' 68 Shelby, 428 auto, candy apple red. A pretty driver needing a few minor things. Sold to first guy that looked at it for 72k.. Alot depends on originality, condition.

Btw, if it was a 4 speed, it would still be in my garage !!

bugsy 05-27-2018 12:13 PM

awesome find. i have a KR same color 4speed 26k miles, needs to be restored but in good shape. Mine is 4 sale. KR had cast iron intake, ram air air cleaner with snorkel, and glove box emblem said GT500. unless they changed them, JMO. Congrats to new owner.

MosportGreen66 05-27-2018 01:25 PM

Awesome find... post more pics, especially when the clean up begins!

Pusher_Man 05-27-2018 11:12 PM

Honestly, I’d post on the SAAC forum and ask them. Those guys are the experts on the Shelby’s. Bob Gaines is a 67 judge and has been very good to talk with. There are other good ones on there but also one or two vultures, so don’t post the Vin pic there.

I agree it’s a very cool car. I love my 67.

A12pilot 05-27-2018 11:32 PM

Frank...I bet I know that car! If it's the one I remember, I drove past that parked in a barn with a Confederate flag hanging above it, while I was in my 66 Coupe going to see my girlfriend at the time. Sending you a PM, my brotha! Tell me if its the same one....

Dave

sometimes photo's have enbedded GPS cordinates that can be extracted and take your right to where the photo was taken.

cook_dw 05-29-2018 02:53 PM

I just hope he was cool the pics being posted before he could get the car purchased.. This could have went/potentially still could go the wrong way.. Hate to see a friendship lost over a car. Best of luck to him on getting it.

flyingn 06-07-2018 11:48 PM

I was there today. Its real.. I put in a bid :)

A12pilot 06-07-2018 11:57 PM

Bingo! Haha! Awesome! It's the car I knew since 17! You owe me a beer at MCACN, Franky!! That's pretty cool and I can't believe it's still there.

Cheers
Dave

flyingn 06-08-2018 12:34 AM

anyone have vintage Ford dealer codes that can tell me where it was originally purchased?

A12pilot 06-08-2018 01:13 AM

Awesome Frank. I have a list in my records somewhere...I'll have to dig it up. Probably Rice & Holdup in Pennsauken right down the street from where I grew up. Rice and Holman of course, is the real name. Just going on what my Grandpop called them:tongue::tongue::tongue:

I'm sure someone will post up something before I find out...

Cheers
Dave

flyingn 06-08-2018 01:23 AM

rice and holdup. Everyone used to call them that lol

NorCam 06-08-2018 02:19 AM

Awesome find boys. Way jealous for sure.

What's the plan...clean it up and see what you got?

pontiacfarmer 06-15-2018 12:57 PM

Now with all this NJ people here .. is it a way to track down a owner using the NJ licence plate numbers??
regards stig

flyingn 06-19-2018 05:26 PM

FYI- the GT500 KR headed to iowa. He is going to MCACN in Nov too :)

A12pilot 06-19-2018 05:41 PM

Well that's just too cool. I'll finally get to see that car in person after all these years. You'll have to introduce me to the new owner. Matter of fact, you gotta introduce me to you too!

Well Frank.. that single handedly made the entire show for me! Well, besides seeing friends, making new ones, sharing car stories, beer, happy hour, and whatnot. But seeing this car will cap off the show!

Cheers
Dave

Would love to have this one in our Barn Find & Hidden Gems area, but to date, it is not signed up.

Anyone (peer-pressure) know the "new" owner?
