5th Picture down on the left. Is that fuel actually puddled in the intake valley? I hope not, if so, that's ALOT! Beautiful survivor for sure.. Danny

mockingbird812 12-04-2017 01:15 PM

Danny - not a necessary comment (please review site rules wrt commenting on "for sale" items). If the supposed puddle was not there, are you a buyer?

x77-69z28 12-04-2017 02:59 PM

Sam, I think Danny was concerned about the risk of a fire, not finding fault with the car. He is not that kind of guy.
Buddy

mockingbird812 12-04-2017 03:17 PM

thanks for chiming in - good to hear. I retract my comment if that is the case. Just don't want to see cars for sale being bashed over little items particularly when they are easy fixes.

Just observant? Nothing wrong with that ... could be just water from rinsing down the motor for the pictures ... TAZ

enio45 12-05-2017 02:21 PM

NP guys, yes good observation on the fuel....car does a lot of sitting, periodic starting and takes a bit to get the gaskets to seal up.....survivor to the 10th degree .

OK Sam....down boy, down!! Stand Down!!

tom406 12-05-2017 02:36 PM

Might I humbly suggest changing title to "1963-1/2 Galaxie 500 R-code" to properly motivate the Ford faithful? Kind of like "68 Camero" vs "68 Camaro L78". GLWS

enio45 12-05-2017 02:42 PM

Great idea.....appreciate all the advise on this

Ill ask Steve to change it!

Thank you and happy holidays

427 Registry

I have looked at the 427 Galaxie Registry and this car is not listed in that registry. The owner can have the car added to the registry by submitting a pic of the door data plate and a pic of the VIN tab next to the right hood hinge to Dave Walters at the 427 Galaxie Registry here, http://www.427galaxieregistry.com/registeryourcar.html

I have shared this ad to a couple of Galaxie pages. This is a very nice original car that I would like to spend a couple of hours with just taking notes. I love it, I just cant afford one in survivor form though.

Always had a soft spot for the big body muscle cars of the 60's. That R code is a major sleeper in Champagne.
I had a 1960 Chrysler 300F for 15 years, loved that boat. From the GM camp the big Pontiacs are the best, like Charlies 1966 Bonneville.

frankk 12-05-2017 06:00 PM

On a bit of a side note here as I have never driven one of the Ford 427 cars.........are they about equal to the Chevy 427-425 in the zip department? Just wondering

tom406 12-06-2017 12:17 AM

We're getting closer! Just an " I before E instead of Y" and another space for "Galaxie 500". (Now I realize some of you Chevy guys don't look around much......;). Good luck.)

Steve Shauger 12-06-2017 12:41 AM

This car is simply amazing and it doesn't matter how it's spelled Tom😉

I’m a Yenko guy....give me a break!!!

Doing the best I can

dannystarr 12-06-2017 06:44 AM

Hey guys... Yes in no way am I taking anything away from this car. Maybe should have worded it better. Just concerned.. We have ALL had a little fuel in that spot, and even driven miles like that. It sure takes a lot for the fuel to ignite in the intake valleys. I have had it make crackling sounds when I didn't tighten the fuel line well, but never lit up. But WOW, this car IS SPECTACULAR !! Good luck to the seller, and whom ever gets to own it in the coming days... Danny
