Sold....

Thats a good car and a good price too.
Wow, you don't often get second chances on a car like this... especially after Charley did a lot of leg-work verifying the car and its components. Heck, Charley even broke it in a little more!
Congrats to the new owner. |
He is a member......
Way to go on both parties!
Cool stuff!
Congrats on your sale. With the new owner being a member here, maybe he'll continue showing us the progress....Joe
Congrats Charley and also to the new owner. Cool car.
Jon, I figured you must have bought it!
Well I did like the car Tony but no, it wasn't me.
Dang, nice for the new owner. Congrats
Maybe the new owner will check in and end the suspense. :CharleySucks:
Good score, whoever ya are!

I have not heard anything but it would be a nice fit.

Ok guys, I'll end the suspense. My dad is the new owner. We picked the car up from Charley earlier today. We are very happy with the car. We considered buying it when it was in Oregon but Charley beat us to it. Then Charley had the car for sale and before we committed to buying it, he already had it sold. That deal fell through and my dad was next in line. so I guess third times a charm! Thanks Charley and this site!

.... That was great that you finally got the car
... I am sure you will enjoy that special Camaro:3gears: |
That's a super solid car, that is the perfect project to do because it's so unique. Congratulations and keep us updated on the progress you make.:beers:

They are the right buyers for the car. Now if we can find the pic that Brian Hendersen mentioned of a orange Z sitting in front of Dana it might give a clue as to what hood to put on it. I still can't believe how nice the exhaust is. First buyer backed out due to the undisclosed body work needed. I guess I just considered it so minor it was a non issue. Kind of stuff I expect on a 50 year old car.
I can't believe someone backed out because of that easy fix!

Congratulations on the purchase.
The hood in the ad looks flat if it is the same car. |
Cool pic. I would be gently sanding right about now looking for traces of that lettering.
I guess I'll have to do some sanding and do a little detective work. The repaint clearly wasn't prepped very well. so hopefully they didn't sand it off.... I'll let you know what we find
Or carefully scrape with a razor. There was no primer between paint jobs so you might be able to uncover a section of the old paint job. Has the stainless on top of the doors etc..Oh boy....
Looks like the car with the stripe color. That is the picture...BKH
Awesome.
Great picture!!
If this 68Z turns out to be the car in the picture that will be one of the coolest things I've seen. Good luck!! |
So where was I in line?
Lol..
Mark...Motorhead had called and asked about the car for his Dad. He was going to tell his Dad more about it but then the first buyer said he would take it. Mark called probably a 1/2 hour later saying he would take it but I had sold it ( I thought). They were very happy when I called him back.
Anybody know what they did to apply that lettering ? Paint or decal ? I'm thinking it would be something they would want to be able to remove easily in case they sold the car. Might not be any traces of it.
Looks like the rally wheels are Ohmaha Orange in the picture as well.... BKH
