Cool survivor 1969 L78 Nova
7 Attachment(s)
I got to meet this guy on Saturday at the local cruise. First time he's had the car out in a decade or so. He bought it from first owner in 1971 (his neighbor who is still around) and raced it (a lot). Still has original drive train. Single fuel line was rerouted up the fender well because he ran headers on it back in the day. The headers eventually rotted off and he put manifolds back on it. Original set of Cragars back home in the garage. 17,000 miles on this time capsule. All original paint. And no it's not for sale.

And look @ that steering wheels grip grain inside the finger grip.

Yes it is Ken's old car. Pic was from the barn finds display at Winnipeg world of wheels 2017.

69 l78..
Very cool...thanks for posting. I noticed the bracket installed on the driver's side of the engine...pretty sure that is the part installed for the motor mount recall issue.
Great time capsule and neat race history...almost a twin to our old silver 69 car. -wilma |
Yup, he said he put that in back in the day, to keep the engine in place in case of motor mount breakage.
|
Love the car; would like to see it wearing Cragars and cheater slicks!

first off
Can I have it, since he wont sell it :) that has to be rarer than hell - who would preserve an Nova? Camaro yes but Nova? absolutely incredible! I love survivor cars wish someone would do a nut and bolt picture write up like Charley did on the 70Z - so little Nova info out there - Wilma- would you consider it? |
Nova...
Camaros get all the glory...but, only true car guys love a Nova!
I would be happy to help with a Nova project...between the 5800 mile Orange Cooler and the 22,000 mile L78 we should be able to put something together. Let me know what you have in mind for details and I'll see what I can do. tom |
Wow neat car for sure!

Weren't the lift brackets not installed around the driver side manifold hooked up to the a arm shaft? If what you say is correct then what did they do for power steering cars? |
engine cable...
You are correct the install was on the exhaust manifold...I have some photos somewhere and the original letter from GM about the recall...more to follow;'-wilma
