Mirror Resilvering Source?
 

Anyone know of a good source for resilvering of a rear view mirror? About 15 years ago I had one done at a place called Silver Service in the Chicago south suburbs, but they have gone out of business. TIA.

I was pleased with her work on my '70 Chevelle mirror.

She's very good & keeps date codes intact since they are on the front of the glass.

I emailed her right away this morning, and got a prompt reply from her. She no longer re-silvers the mirror glass, only replaces it.....she says the re-silvering does not last :dunno:

I wound up sending my mirror to a place that advertises in Hemmings.....Ron's Corner in Winston, MO. $38.50 including return shipping. I received the refinished mirror today and it looks very nice. Decent turnaround time, 25 days from the date I shipped it until the day I got it back.

Did they interrupt the date code on your mirror at all?

Rick, I never saw a date code on there to begin with, and there certainly doesn't appear to be any date code on there now :dunno:

I can not seem to find any information on Ron's Corner under services. Can you give me the phone or address? I too need a mirror from a 1970 Chevelle restored with new glass/ mirror / and stainless restored.

I don't know if they do the stainless or not. All I sent them was the mirror glass, removed from the body of the mirror.

I talked to Ron and he said he does not do the Day / Night mirror glass, I will have to find a good used one. I imagine 1968 - 1972 GM A body are all the same? Now on the hunt for a worthy mirror.
