69 Z lemans blue project Value
Picked up a 69Z and just trying to gauge it's approx value. NOM and trans . Has a Muncie in it and original 12bolt. Tach gauges . Interior will clean up real good! Qp's trunk and floors very nice shape.
Some surface rust on roof and hood and front valance. Has small block but doesn't run. Original lemans blue white stripes and black gut. Needs everything pretty much. Thx in advance |

Re: 69 Z lemans blue project Value
What are the floors like Steve? I've seen a lot worse selling lately and looks like this would make a good project car for someone. Good color on an early build and trim tag looks good as well.
Gotta be worth 16K-18K maybe more IMO. |
Re: 69 Z lemans blue project Value
Great color, and not factory rear spoiler too! So if you already bought it, are you trying to determine value to weigh up whether to restore it, or flip it? Is any of the Z-specific stuff on the NOM engine, like carb, distributor, alternator, manifolds/smog etc?

Re: 69 Z lemans blue project Value
I blew up that left rear shot and it appears that the rear deck has spoiler holes?
|
Re: 69 Z lemans blue project Value
I haven't got into it to much . Not original carb I know that. I bought a lot of cars this month and just not sure what I wanna do actually. Race season starting and if I keep it will just put away for awhile.
Has 44k original miles floors and frame is nice . Trunk solid has few smal spots but doesn't need replaced. |

It had a spoiler added at the dealer. It actually has the holes for the emblem under the spoiler. |
Re: 69 Z lemans blue project Value
Also isn't this to early for cowl hood car?

Yes but look at where the stripes finish; if that's original paint, car left Norwood without a spoiler. |
Re: 69 Z lemans blue project Value
Good eye Tim. I missed that.

Yes but look at where the stripes finish; if that's original paint, car left Norwood without a spoiler. </div></div> Yes didn't come with spoiler from factory. Was installed later |
Re: 69 Z lemans blue project Value
Nice find and to answer your question about the hood it could have had a cowl hood with that build date.. Most likely it didnt though.. Get a pic of the firewall above and to the right of the heater box. Look for the relay and also get a pic of the throttle arm.

I will get some more pics later today. It does have the air cleaner assembly and flapper for hood. |
Re: 69 Z lemans blue project Value
Ok after much though I think I'm gonna let this one go. I wasn't really planning on this purchase as I had a few big purchases in the past month or so . I think selling it is in my best interest. M. After seeing some pics what would a fair price to start at be. Also what's it cost to list a car in eBay these days?

Re: 69 Z lemans blue project Value
Steve just sent me another 4 pics to post. Here they are, and I have asked him to send interior, trunk and engine bay pics as well.

Re: 69 Z lemans blue project Value
JD, I know I don't speak for everyone, but I've been saying it for a few years now: "The Trans Am cars NEED to be down in price"!! I personally don't think there is any reason for these cars to be in the 70K range OR HIGHER in some cases. I think that the market is actually going down some of the old Muscle cars, and these are a good example of cars going back to where they should be. Nice restored for around the 50K range for you "normal" '69 Z-28 car. Not a disc brake or 2X4 car, just the normal 302 4sp 12 bolt NON RS cars.
Now with that being said, this car would need 10's of thousands of $$$ to fully restore, and you're still not with the matching number engine and possibly trans. As it sits, since the interior is pretty nice, it would be in the 15K range. I think this car in today's market would crest the 50K when done, but as the market shrinks and the flood of '69 Z's are out there, this car would get hit for non original drivetrain. Sorry but you asked and that's my personal thoughts on value |
Re: 69 Z lemans blue project Value
Well stated John...but there's another issue today, and that's with the inflated price of parts.
Restoring one of these cars today that does not have the original drive train is extremely costly. Case in point is the X77 car I am bringing back from being a Super Stock. By the time you source and buy all the missing Z/28 parts, dated and numbers correct components, and then restore the interior, bodywork and paint etc, you can easily be into one of these cars for 70K-80K and sometimes more? The high price of restoration work (quality body & paint) and the excessive price of dated components today is what's driving up the asking prices once completed. While we all wish they were 40K-50K cars finished they are not because the 69 cars are "so popular" with "so many" people. Many of which don't want to spend on a turn key finished $$$ car, so they then seek out a project car that's missing lots and end up restoring one (only to find out how costly that can be). That sets them on the competitive path of seeking out the rare parts which are already overpriced IMO and fuels good old supply and demand issues once again. Until people stop paying absorbent prices for these parts, I doubt we are going to see a huge correction in the asking price of finished cars. It's another reason people are searching more for the survivor cars now. Less parts to buy than a car that is in need of so much more. |
So checked out the car a little more has its original 4:10
BV rear. Date 12/30/68 |
I received the # thanks
|
I will be putting this car for sale in the next week on this site first before eBay. Thank you to everyone for the info. And the two gentlemen that came over and helped me with a few things!
