1969 Chevelle SS Daytona yellow
|
Re: 1969 Chevelle SS Daytona yellow
Looks like a good project, he should show the tach redline.
|
Re: 1969 Chevelle SS Daytona yellow
Do I only see a single fuel line.
|
Re: 1969 Chevelle SS Daytona yellow
Looks like 2 lines coming out of the frame to me.

Yep
|
Re: 1969 Chevelle SS Daytona yellow
I tried enlarging the photo, but the resolution is weak. I think it looks like a single line with a small screw type clamp on the fuel hose.

Re: 1969 Chevelle SS Daytona yellow
curious why he is covering up the trans hump with cardboard?
|
Re: 1969 Chevelle SS Daytona yellow
I agree with Wilma....one line with a worm drive hose clamp.
Also, FWIW "Malibu" emblems on the door panels....don't think they did that on any 69 SS396 cars. |
Re: 1969 Chevelle SS Daytona yellow
How rare is that color on a Chevelle?
|
Re: 1969 Chevelle SS Daytona yellow
I don't know about rare but its one of two colors exclusively for the 69 Super Sport chevelle

Re: 1969 Chevelle SS Daytona yellow
This Chevelle was indeed born a real deal L78. It retain's the original paint and original 3.73 rear end. New owner is possibly bringing the car to me on her way home to Canada
The car was originally sold new at Roy Dunton Chevrolet in Kingman, AZ. The car will be saved and placed back on the road I will allow the new owner to chime in and give his own description. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...psgrlwnoxn.jpg Dan |
Re: 1969 Chevelle SS Daytona yellow
Awesome! I guess they're still out there

Re: 1969 Chevelle SS Daytona yellow
Glad to hear that someone here grabbed it. I saw this listing early on and seriously thought of trying to buy it until I realized it was in Atlanta. I want a 69 Chevelle SS but do not want to drive that far to pickup a project car. :)

Re: 1969 Chevelle SS Daytona yellow
Sounds like another Helmut purchase. Looks to be a good starting point for a project.

Good buy for $6500 imo, so congrats Helmut |

Ryan </div></div> Thanks for all the positive comments and support from my good friends! I've got a long road ahead... I really gotta thank Brent for posting the car in this thread. Brent, you've posted a LOT of nice finds, and this one I couldn't pass up (or, nobody held me back). Thanks to James for being my man on-site, and to Dan for encouragement and support... and same goes to those that offered to help out. Yes, I plan to preserve as much of the original "patina" as possible. The car is definitely going to need repairs to the floors, and hopefully get by with just minor local repairs to the body. I'm on the lookout for an original driver-quality 1969 Chevelle black bench-seat interior including door panels, carpet, dash pad, steering wheel, etc. If anyone has these parts leftover from a restoration, I would gladly buy them for this car. I'm also on the hunt for a nice set of 15x8.5" wheels (with a 3.75" - 4.0" backspace)... maybe a vintage set of American Racing Torque Thrusts or Ansen Aluminum Slots? If you happen to be somewhere along the route from SC to Chicago to Calgary... so much the better! I'll keep you posted on my journey... |

Re: 1969 Chevelle SS Daytona yellow
Helmet.......they're 14's not 15's but look great on a '69. They are true Ansen Torque Thrust wheels. PM me if you're interested.
BTW.........congrats on the purchase!!! Kurt https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...8-img_0572.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...7-img_0477.jpg |

Re: 1969 Chevelle SS Daytona yellow
Helmut,
Looks like you should have most of the parts you need before the car crosses the border. Keep us posted on the progress. Phil W. |

Re: 1969 Chevelle SS Daytona yellow
Good score Helmut. Guess I'll see it around in a year or two?
Have fun on your road trip. I drove to Hershey and back a couple years ago and remember all those tole roads and fees along the interstate with a trailer. (ouch) Drive safe! |
