Charlie that is an Incredible Survivor LS6,
Thanks for sharing these photos. All these years I have had this clip in one of my boxes and could never figure out what it is for till now. |

Can you do a drive way burnout video
Can I drive it when I come out in August for the Cubs vs. Giants game Great color combo Dan |
Re: LS6
Boy that car shines nice.Looks better then your earlier photos.
Love the X on the lic. frame, the white stripe spare, and the sill drips. Look at all the blue overspray on the underhood...Typical Flint. Can you show a better close up picture of how the CD-2 electrical wire harness is interfaced with the wiper motor wiring? There were 3 variations. You have the correct later issued flat "Impala" rear cobra eye too. Does the points clock still work? Is that a 2 dimple battery holddown Bkt. on the passenger floor? Re: LS6
Charley,
Looks like the Original / Survivor "Bar" has just been raised! Fantastic looking Car Charley, congratulations! Question, my LS-6 has the washer monitoring system also. Is that part of the U46 light monitoring system or ZJ9 auxiliary lighting group? Neither are listed on my original window sticker but it was built in Arlington Texas. Just trying to learn more abut how they did it back then. Bill |
Re: LS6
Congrats on the former owner/owners who kept this car so nice!

Re: LS6

Re: LS6
Our 70 Nova L78 car has the ZJ9 option and it is listed on the window sticker.

Re: LS6
Bill
The CD-2 fiber optic washer jar monitor was available all by itself as RPO CD-2. Or if you ordered the ZJ-9 Auxilary Lighting group, you got the CD-2 option, plus the Courtesy Lights,( Ashtray light,Floor,Trunk & Hood under lights),and the Rear View Mirror map light too. The U-46 Light Monitoring Vigilites were available separately & not with this group. Thanks for the pics.. |
Re: LS6
Car looks amazing! I'd love to see it person. ( MCACN Vintage Cert 2017 Charley? ) Cool paperwork too... Chassis Broadcast has an error on it, let's see if anybody can find it. BTW I have no issue with it's authenticity as I believe it's real. Cool car.
Bill, washer fluid monitor is part of the ZJ9 Auxiliary lighting group not the U46 lamp monitor. Chris |
Re: LS6
Never seen a YE Negative Battery cable on a 1970 LS-6 Chevelle...Just PE,FV & YG.
|
Re: LS6
Good eye Rick. YE on the negative cable is the issue. YE is a top post cable code. Correct side post codes would be FV or PE.
Chris |
Re: LS6
I hear ya.
I understand we're technically talking R79w side terminal battery here, but I included the YG R59 Top terminal Neg.battery cable code,as I have a few 1970 LS-6 Chevelles built @ Baltimore & Van Nuys here showing those came with an R59S battery too. All early December 1969 assembly dates too so that would explain it. |

Re: LS6
Nice car! Was this ever in the Northeast Ohio area, Cleveland to be specific? I see Toledo on the paperwork, but I remember a car with striking similarity about 30 years ago.....it was around one night then we never saw it again......

Not really, north central at best. But, as popular as this gathering was back then, they might have made the drive. I would bet it is the same car. Very very nice. BIG |
Re: LS6
Holland is just west of Toledo.
