Way cool ad and I think the same one I posted a few weeks back in the Old Newspapers thread?
Canadian racers Lance Hill/Barrie Poole/John Petrie would be good guys to ask for more info (not Joe Petrie/Montreal as in the ad).

I believe a NASCAR sanctioned track. That is probably why I have not heard of it.

Yes Milton VT Speedway was a NASCAR sanctioned track. that was partners with the NHRA. Milton was also a Drag News covered track. IT was only opened for a short time 1963 - never opened for the 1971 season. In its hay day drew big crowds and all the big names. The NHRA Super Stock All Star Circuit I know ran a Milton and at Naperville New England and other tracks in the northeast. Not many know of NASCAR being in Drag racing. And the NHRA All Star Super Stock Circuit. In 1969 the circuit as can be seen in the ad ran a group of brand new 1969 Super Stock cars. Cool I must have missed that one, I spent a weekend on the Burlington Free Press searching the archives. I own the Bill Towers 1969 Nova Super Stock Eliminator The ( UNDERTAKER }.

NHRA ? This is what I know about The Circuit Mentioned in the News paper articles. I spoke to Bill Towers a few years back he told me that the Nova ran SS/E. Bill was sick at the time and soon pasted on. I just recently made contact with Larry Lacaillade Driver of the SS/E 427 Camaro ( Nervous 1 ). Larry said that it was called the NHRA Super Stock All Star Circuit. and he sent me one of the patches from the Circuit. The yellow one in the pictures That says NHRA on it.

Sam, Thanks it is a nice car. I have spent 14 year documenting the history of the car She was Manufactured on March 14 1969. Delivered to Shearer Chevrolet in Burlington VT. Bill Towers was the parts manager at the dealership the car was sponsored and prepared at the dealership for Super Stock Competition in This all Star Circuit. Bill won in June 1969 Super Stock Eliminator at Naperville dragway in Canada and winning Super Stock Eliminator at Milton speedway 1970. The car showed up in Ohio around 1973 in 1982 Mike Hunt From Mansfield Ohio won the IHRA Winston World Nationals in Hot Rod Running a Bill Jackson Small Block. Spring 1982 the car was sold To Jerry Wallace from Georgia Over the next 17 years the car changed hands several time With Mike Stichcomb winning NHRA Track Championship at Southeastern Dragway 1986 and Ed Nalley Winning The NHRA Super Pro Track Championships at Atlanta Dragway 1993. I bought the car in 1999 and have qualified for the NHRA division finals Six years with two wins. I Currently have pictures of the car racing in Six Decades.

I know the Circuit and Milton Speedway was Covered By Drag News Hoping someone has some old Drag News from the northeast that could fined some coverage of the Circuit. Thanks for any info anyone can give. Lonnie
