The pitman arm shown is for a manual steering box as it has an M stamped on underside where the splines are.

Warren, thanks for the heads up I checked the other one I had it has an M stamped on it also. I sold one about 2 weeks ago that had the p stamp on it. My little pea brain didn't even put two and two together

The diameter of the spline hole on the PS arm is larger as well

YES THE POWER STEERING SPLINE HOLE IS LARGER IT IS 1 1/8 ACROSS

I was just looking through my 227 pitman arms and noticed that some of my manual arms have the &quot;M&quot; and others don't have it. Is it possible that the arms marked &quot;M&quot; are OTC?

This is a manual steering, fast ratio (#227) pitman arm Rich. I have several of these. I thought that you needed a PS arm?

ok I am confused I have different guys telling me different part # for the pitman arm I am working on a original 69 Z28 the pitman arm I have shown is the one I removed it was replaced at one time in its life the car is a factory power steering car so what part # should I be looking for ?? thanks for any help putting me on the right track
