1972 SS Nova
Not a supercar but a great driver. Guy I bought my Monte from had this and offered it to me. Black/Black /350-4speed ss car with air. Have buildsheet. Was $2400 plus $1600 in options! Pretty nice driver. He put in a ZZ3 motor and rebuilt it to ZZ4 specs. Chambered exhaust. Never seen that on a Nova. Has added vintage heat/air. Nice tight car.

Nice, that thing looks Mean,,,

Re: 1972 SS Nova
Chambered exhaust is great on the nova. We actually did that back in the very early 70's. Got everything from GM cheap in those days.
That is a nice nova. Worth having and fun I bet! |
Re: 1972 SS Nova
Thanks Sam. It is pretty fun to drive. Just in time for Schoneys Nova show right down the street from me this weekend!

Re: 1972 SS Nova
I will be running conventional dual exhaust with 2 1/2" muffler outlets -- where can I get the tail pipes that dump behind the tire like on this beautiful Nova? Thanks ... TAZ

Re: 1972 SS Nova
I looked at the exhaust when I had it on the rack. Those are actually just chrome extensions held on with the 3 mounting screws, and pipe is angled, not straight cut.

Re: 1972 SS Nova
Very nice Dave! Congrats...

Re: 1972 SS Nova
Does the Nova have headers with the chambered exhaust, or manifolds? Dave Belk? Any relation to Dennis Belk of Iowa?
|
Re: 1972 SS Nova
Hi Bill. Just manifolds. Yes, Dennis is my father. Dave

Re: 1972 SS Nova
Dave....I believe I bought my 68 Chevelle from your dad in April of 2002. A friend and I pulled my trailer out to Bettendorf, Iowa from NJ, after the ebay purchase and brought it home. Then I did a year long frame off restoration on it. I still have it today. It's going to the Md Chevelle show this weekend. It's one of the best purchases I've ever made.

Re: 1972 SS Nova
Nice! I'll have to show him the pic. He restored 55-57 Chevys my whole childhood. Career auto mechanic, like his father was. His brothers ( family of 14! ) are into antique cars / tractors as well.

Re: 1972 SS Nova
Question. Want to put a CD player / kick panel speakers in car. There are 6 X 9 speakers in package tray already. Is there an option / kit out there that does not require cutting of the dash? I have seen stock looking radios with a CD player in the glove compartment. Good idea? Going in circles over this. Any help appreciated. Dave

Other than the Glovebox, hiding CD/Radio units inside factory Tissue Dispensers is the cleanest way I've seen. Here's a few pics below, the lower ones from this thread... http://www.chevelles.com/forums/26-i...den-radio.html As for the kick panels, it may be best save yours if good and find others to modify? Good luck! Re: 1972 SS Nova
Thats a good idea! Thanks. As for the kick panels they do make molded ones. Dave
