Customized '69 Corvette

3 Attachment(s)
Saw this at a local swap meet today. Owner was asking $7500. Supposed to be a big block car originally but has a small block now. Had high redline tach and supposedly the hood was an original L88 hood but it had been cut. Said L88 on the console but I don't know how to ID a real one and I would assume it is not. The car is a runner. Owner's contact number is (805) 757-1765.

Maybe, maybe that is one of the 116 l88 cars!

Re: Customized '69 Corvette

It does have a Muncie that matches the VIN of the car and it does not have a drain plug. I think if it doesn't have an M22 then it can't be a real L88. Is that correct?

I believe that there were m21's in the mix.

Did it have twin pin J56 calipers and the HD rear end?

Here are some axle pics and the console. It was hard to see the calipers. I think they may have been single pin.

Jeff, all 4 speed L88's had m22

That's a 1968 Console & shift plate, there are no fiber-optic recesses.

Thanks for pointing that out I didn't look at the pictures too close. All 67 68 and 69 Corvettes produced with 4 speeds were all M22s

Interesting it has 69 doors on it. It also has the 69 Dash and steering column with the key on the column

Re: Customized '69 Corvette

I kept looking at the console thinking there was something missing from this one VS the 69 vette I had.

Probably an L71 car. Of course it could have been an L89 as well, however with no tanksticker there is not much more than a heavily modified Green /Green vinyl 69 Vette.

It was originally Fathom Green with the gun metal color interior not a green interior. Gun metal shown below.

That is if the dash hasn't been changed. It has U bolts for the rear end Axel's. Big box came with caps so the rear has been changed at some point. No rear sway bar unless it was removed.
Edit just saw the sway bar......
Double edit pass side has HD axle caps Dr has ubolt!!!! Bubba been at work here.

Jon,
Thanks, My vette black book (1990 edition which is when I bought my 69 L46) has an obvious misprint it shows 427=G/V 428=G/L also has 416=G/V 417=G/L

I am writing it in 427 428 as the GUN color option.
