69 chevelle ss 396/375 survivor all #s matching
3 Attachment(s)
Just when u think there all gone, here is a barn find real 31,000 mile L78 chevelle that is unmolested and all#s matching drivetrain that has never been out of the car.Its almost impossible to find a solid lifter 4 speed big block orig paint muscle car that isnt six figures, this car was with its owner since 1971 and was sitting in storage the last 25 yrs ,the eng has all orig born with components except smog and the alternator which was replaced just weeks before i got the car as the owner wanted to get it in running cond to sell .The trans still has its orig tag and the car even still has its crappy muncie shifter with reverse lockout so u know it has never really been thrashed, the 12 bolt posi is coded for 331 but has a 410 gear in it, still has its orig chambered exhaust system with the rolled tips which u never see!!! Interior is also all orig down to the carpet and has the bucket seats and console with a factory am/fm 8 track system that works, the body is all orig sheetmetal with orig faded paint 99% rust free with a small pimpling at the bottom of the lf fender but has its share of bumps and bruises, the trunk is unbelieveable cond with orig splatter paint and mat with orig jack assy that was never used.Car runs awesome and has full documentation ie: pop, buildsheet, dealer transfer papers, orig pics etc ..Some of the neat orig stuff the car has is as follows, orig BO radiator with tag, orig chambered exhaust with rolled tips, orig front shocks, orig spring tags, orig muncie shifter with lockout, orig 4 t-3 headlamps, bumper guards,8 track stereo,Iam sure u survivor guys get the point. The car needs some cosmetic stuff but man what a car to do some fluffing on and bring it to the next level asking $51,500 possible trades ...570-854-0896

Sweet ride Scott. More photos please!!! Shots of exhaust system - including the rolled tips - would be nice! Look like G70s on the rear. Where is Capitol Chev.? Harrisburg?

Re: 69 chevelle ss 396/375 survivor all #s matching
Very nice Scott.
Is this a Framingham car? If so, have you checked for a build sheet under the rear seat? Thanks. Phil Woj. |
Re: 69 chevelle ss 396/375 survivor all #s matching
Could be an F-ham car Woj, considering location now. My limited experience is that these cars have 1/3 of a BS if you find one. They appear to be cut with a razor. One of our European members had a '71 or so Pontiac from F-ham that also had the 1/3 BS.

Re: 69 chevelle ss 396/375 survivor all #s matching
Sam,
It seems like quite a few L78's on the East Coast came from the Framingham plant, and yes, many of those had the 1/3 build sheet under the rear seat. My Malibu had that and a full build sheet on the gas tank. This would only be icing on the cake for this beauty. Phil W. |
Re: 69 chevelle ss 396/375 survivor all #s matching
I LOVE This Chevelle.....Scott and I have been discussing it for some time. This Special Chevelle needs the CORRECT owner....one that will do the RIGHT thing with this car. <span style="font-weight: bold">PRESERVATION</span> is key. I always worry about these great cars getting in to the WRONG HANDS
IE: the owner that put the white stripes on the Black "Benchmark" 1970 LS6 Chevelle Scott Best of Luck! Please keep me posted if she sells. Dan |

Re: 69 chevelle ss 396/375 survivor all #s matching
And you know which camp I'm in
There are actually some cars that I don't mind having a vinyl roof, but the 68 - 72 GM A-bodies are not in that category |

Somehow cool but odd when contrasting colors as below example, finally a good use for B90 trim? Sorry for the hijack and congrats to whoever landed the subject car! Re: 69 chevelle ss 396/375 survivor all #s matching
Scott,
Thank you for giving me the chance to be the first one to look at the car and buy the car!! I appreciate some one that stays true to a deal with just a hand shake, especially when other people are shaking a lot more money in there face!!! The car honestly is 10 times more incredible in person then the few pics that were shown, and 100 times more impressive when you can put it on the lift and spend an hour or two with it!! The car has everything you could ask for, incredible original patina, original solid lifter drivetrain and full documentation to back it all up I really appreciate the car and the deal we made!!!! Again Scott thank you!!!! |
