Re: 1969 Yenko Original Newspaper Ad
WW what a list, thanks for searching it out and posting! Who can match up any known existing cars...or more important, supply Vins by stock # for the unknown ones? Hard to see clearly but is that same FG 427 Nova listed twice but two different 427 LB cars? ~ Pete |
Re: 1969 Yenko Original Newspaper Ad
Guess it all started in Jan of 1949:

Pretty cool hearing from a Lil Don Yenko. Wish I had a recording of that record...Listened to that almost 20yr ago. I think I have pics of the record and player.... BIG |
Re: 1969 Yenko Original Newspaper Ad
On a side note, how many 427 Novas were built? You rarely seem to see any of those.

Re: 1969 Yenko Original Newspaper Ad
Another cool ad from Yunker Motors, Waukesha WI:
https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...9626-image.jpg Yunker Motors, Waukesha, Waukesha Daily Freeman, May 28,1969 Paul |
Re: 1969 Yenko Original Newspaper Ad
Another cool one Paul! Yunker Chev Oconomowoc is on the list here as delivering at least 5 Yenko Camaros...DY N578835 + FG N578860 FG N615352 + LB N615612 + RG N615866 . Also, William reported buying parts off N579434 in the early 80's after finding it in a scrapyard...he mentioned thinking then that it may've been a Yunkers car but it's listed here as Hult delivered. Below emblem pic posted here previously by member Tony 'Scuncio'. ~ Pete http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1141/...793c6f5e_b.jpg |

Re: 1969 Yenko Original Newspaper Ad
Pete,
See if Bill Sight Chevrolet is on that list, see below!!!!!!!! Bill Sight Chev, The Kansas City Times, Jun 8, 1968 Paul https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics..._chev_1968.jpg |
Re: 1969 Yenko Original Newspaper Ad
Yet another very cool ad, love that 427 Boss of the road tag line! Bill Sight Chevrolet is on the '68 list delivering at least two Yenko Camaros, N412409 and N413680 but nothing listed here for '69 Camaros or Chevelles. Keep in mind some known also unknown Vins were delivered by dealers not listed so Sight could have rolled some 69's through their doors or even more 68's. Keep digging Paul, very cool stuff! 2 more Yenko car ads:
Bob Reiter Chevrolet, Great Bend Tribune, May 15, 1968 Yenko Deuce Nova, The Journal News, Hamilton OH, Central Chevrolet, March 12, 1971 |
Re: 1969 Yenko Original Newspaper Ad
The Sight family is still in the car business in KC.
|
Re: 1969 Yenko Original Newspaper Ad
Bob Reiter's another dealer w/ nothing on the lists here but could have sold some known/unknown Yenko cars...especially being the '68 ad states Yenko 427 Camaro on display. Central Chevrolet Hamilton OH is on the '70 list delivering SC Deuce W352754 plus possibly sold other Yenko cars too...the SC car most likely the same one in the ad? As mentioned previously, other than some of the Jack Douglass cars, the NCRS service results should come back as Yenko and not the final delivering dealer for real Yenko Supercars. Re: 1969 Yenko Original Newspaper Ad
Wish I could turn back the clock on N579434. Think I paid $75 for the BE axle and dash w/140. Body was intact; still had a Yenko badge on it. Not sure it came from Yunker new but was told it was traded in there mid-'70s. By that time it was Lemans Blue and had a small-block. Probably could have bought the entire carcass for a few hundred bucks.
There was supposed to be a Daytona Yellow '69 Yenko Nova in the area back in the day. Would have to had come from Yunker as Dale was not a franchisee at the time. Like Dale, the Yunker site is long gone. |
Re: 1969 Yenko Original Newspaper Ad
"...Central Chevrolet Hamilton OH is on the '70 list delivering SC Deuce W352754..."
This is that car, and is the infamous rebody that went through BJ a few years ago. |
Re: 1969 Yenko Original Newspaper Ad
I too have heard rumors of a Daytona Yellow 69 427 Nova.

Re: 1969 Yenko Original Newspaper Ad
Another ad for a Yenko Deuce Nova, although listed with used cars it has no mileage from Ammon Chevrolet. Yenko Deuce, York Daily Record, Nov 28, 1970, York PA

Re: 1969 Yenko Original Newspaper Ad
Do we have Tamspon Chevrolet listed as a selling dealer?
1970 Yenko Deuce, The Bee, Danville VA, September 17, 1970, Tamson Chevrolet <br>https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...9778-image.jpg |
Re: 1969 Yenko Original Newspaper Ad
I found the FG Deuce in a shed in Williamsport, PA many years ago. I think Scott in PA has/had it last.
J&W Nova owns 3 of the Tamson Deuces. Neat ad - both of them, I've not seen them before. |

Another ad: Earl Davis, selling a 1967 Corvair Yenko Stinger

Re: 1969 Yenko Original Newspaper Ad
Wolf Chevy's listed as delivering FB Auto Deuce # W370851. No idea if it's ever surfaced...anyone? Way cool stuff Paul, keep digging! ~ Pete |

Wolf Chevrolet was a victim of the Government Motors deal a few years back. Manley Motors - also of Belvidere, the World's second oldest Ford dealer purchased the Wolf Chevrolet building this spring and is in the process of remodeling it for their new dealership. John Wolf (I believe the founder's grandson) from Wolf Chevrolet now works across the street at his Uncle's dealership, Jack Wolf Cadillac/GMC. |

Re: 1969 Yenko Original Newspaper Ad
Marlin,
Any dealerships we need to research to see if they advertised any Yenko cars? Paul |
Re: 1969 Yenko Original Newspaper Ad
If I remember correctly Wolf also had CR, and CG deuces. That CG one may well be out there too.

Re: 1969 Yenko Original Newspaper Ad
