What did you get for Christmas?

I actually got this a few days before Christmas. Another piece of memorabilia for the man cave.

I think I saw one of those on Pawn Stars that they had Rick restore. I kinda think they said it was a salesman's sample from "back in the day". Very COOL!!! One of these days, I'm gonna grab Skip, Chick, and come have lunch with you and the boys! We were talking about just that when I saw them with Lonnie and one of his recent jobs while attending the East Coast Indoor Nationals. Lonnie had Skip's Black '69, a Blue '69 Z that Chick bought from Lonnie's customer, and a recent build that were there to promote his business.

You guys are welcome over here any time! The salesman's sample Coke cooler is actually unrestored. Mike - she didn't give me any trouble about the Coke cooler on her table cloth - the washing machine that I got her was on it too!

Wow!!!! I really like it. It has been a Very good Christmas. The toys are great, but to know that we are healthy and have the privilege to do what we do in this amazing country is truly a God given Blessing.

I think I remember the 68 on eBay last spring or so? It sounded like a clean car and was about an hour from me. Might have had 2 motors too. Looks good

Re: What did you get for Christmas?

Tim, I have some cool photos of your car at a local car cruise from a few years ago at Solon Commons.. I just didn't recognize it without the Hi Perf spark box on the passenger side fender but thought it was the same car. Let me know if you want me to post the pics. or email them to you...

Bill, the previous owner was a younger kid and he did tell me that the car came with 2 motors when he bought it. Harry Mann replaced the 396 with a built 427 if I am not mistaken, dealer conversion like Yenko did.. The kid said the original motors were still with the car when he purchased it.

Congrats on the purchase!! This is a very cool car!!!

I asked for Peace and Quiet, my kids gave me a wrapped box of piece and quiet...BTW, my 8 year old was up at 3 AM Xmas morning, wife was not pleased with me yelling "go back to bed, Santa didn't come yet". Almost 60 degrees here in Long Giland today, took the Nova out and beat it up a bit, day was a gift, 30's coming next week

Rich,

You can post the photos. I would like it if you could email them to me also. The car does have 2 motors. The original short block came with the car. As did the original manifolds, smog, distributor, and spare. The original heads, intake, and carb reside on........get this.............a March of 68 L88 CE short block. I am wanting to dive into the history some more. History bits like you have offered are oh so valuable. I'll start a dedicated thread on the car.

Not sure what direction I am going to take the car. I may jut leave it as is, or put all of the original parts back in it. I a little hesitant to change anything, as the car really seems to have a great story of why it is what it is today.

Re: What did you get for Christmas?

Tim,
Is the paint nice enough you don't need to do anything with it? I was a little interested when it was on eBay and the owner sounded like it was nice. I thought the extra engine was an L88.

I think I can work with the paint. JM says the short block is an L88 besides the original shortblock.

Well, I can't compete with most of you guys, but did get a couple cool things.

Snap on 1/4 inch ratchet (already used it to R&R the upper front cover on the turbo Bimmer) and a couple of four post lifts.

Hopefully will get the lifts installed over the weekend.
