Recommended New Forum w/i YENKO.net....
<span style="font-style: italic"> <span style="font-family: 'Arial Black'"> <span style="font-size: 14pt">...."Garages/Shops" </span></span> </span> <span style="font-size: 11pt">: ours, others, dreams, etc. I am setting up a new shop in my new home in Dayton which got me thinking about this. I really like the garage journal threads but it would be nice to have a specific forum for our "<span style="font-style: italic">SUPERCAR</span>" crowd. Suggested threads: "Show us your shop/show us your tools" (strictly voluntary) "How-to..." (candidates for stickies) run compressed air lines, cover a floor (i.e. epoxy paint, tile, carpeting, etc.), pick a garage door, develop a building plan (get HOA and city approval), etc. "Tool recommendations" "Which lift?" "Which Compressor?" "Which lighting?" "HVAC suggestions" "Storage recommendations", i.e. cabinets, shelves, containers, etc. ....and so on! Some of above topics have been covered here and there in our various forums, but it would be nice to have a specific <span style="font-style: italic">go-to </span>forum to retrieve all of the discussions and recommendations or to just get inspiration! There is some great talent and <span style="font-style: italic">been-there-done-that </span>experience around here and it would be nice to tap into it. I'd be happy to be the subject matter expert on the thread:

Re: Recommended New Forum w/i YENKO.net....
Here's a shot of my blank slate. So far I have my insulation in, new outlets, new lights, and half of my dry wall up. For any Arizonans considering moving to the mid west, <span style="font-style: italic"><span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="font-size: 17pt">IT GETS COLD HERE IN THE WINTER!!! </span></span> </span>
Bruce, I am renting my AZ house out for the time being and will be working in Dayton for the foreseeable future. But, you never know, I am keeping the option open to move back! Steve, I see a need in this new forum for your talent! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...9273-image.jpg |
Re: Recommended New Forum w/i YENKO.net....
How much is going in the garage? Cars ,tools, both? How big of a canvas do you have?
FWIW....I've made the most of my space, I put 10# of crap in a 5# bag, space is always a premium. BIG |

Re: Recommended New Forum w/i YENKO.net....
Nice size to work with Sam.
I laid mine out before building so I knew where I was going to put everything, or if I even had room. I drew it up in scale and fit in the must have pieces such as tool box, bench, car Ect. That gave me a few options as far as layout and helped plan my focal point (bench) and my space utillization around my cars. My biggest concern was still being able to park my truck in the garage nightly and to keep the lawn and garden crap away from the Camaro. Itemize and prioritize your stuff as well as your amenities ( water, ceiling fans, heat, power, compressed air) . You can fit it all in that space, just won't be able to use it all at once. I hate clutter and flow is important. The 5 S concept works in the home shop too. BIG |

Re: Recommended New Forum w/i YENKO.net....
Sorry to hear we have lost you to Ohio for a while Sam. This thread is a love/hate for me as I moved and lost my 4000 sq foot garage but am interested in what others have so I can dream on what might be possible someday.
Stay warm! Bill. |
