63 split window
2 Attachment(s)
Last thing I need is another project right now. But, some deals are just too good to pass up.
Found this one off the beaten path; way off the beaten path. Sorry for the crappy pics, but my phone is almost as old as this car. Born with fuelie motor is locked up, but hopefully salvageable. Don’t see any rods sticking through the block or pan. Spit window coupe that I would call molested by mother nature, but unmolested otherwise. It was too good a deal to pass up. Paint looks to be really dark green, but I believe it is Daytona Blue with red vinyl interior. Because of the greenish hue, I am having a hard time believing it is the original paint, but can find no evidence of a full repaint. Not talking about the primer that was shot over severely checking paint. I got if REALLY cheap, probably less than I would have to pay for the fuel injection set up (and it is all there). Believe it or not, even though it has been in crappy shed storage (you can see some of the vines growing through it) there is zero rust on this car. Waddaya think? |

Re: 63 split window
Nice find. There is a split window sitting in a guys back yard about a mile from my house. He also has a 58 and a 71 Corvette along with a few other cars just sitting around his house. I know the 58 and 63 have been sitting for 25 plus years. He won't sell any of the cars.

Hahaha - at least it'll be easy to fix, just need Testors glue. Heres the real thing:

Model car. I used to build military dioramas for a local hobby shop. Lots of telltales there.

Re: 63 split window
Well, I meant to come clean early this morning, but didn't make it to the computer before heading to the court house.
It really is the original engine. It really is locked up. Car really does have no rust. And, I really did buy it cheap. But.... Brian and Stefano nailed it.... it is a model. I just couldn't wait until April 1 to post. I hope everyone takes it in the spirit in which it was intended. Just trying to be funny. My 20 year old step son looked at this post last night. All he could say was "you sir, are an a$$." I said I was just being a smart a$$. He said, "No, more like a jackass." If it is any consolation, I fooled Sherri first. Showed her those pics and told her I bought it. She just stood there stunned. No reply. At least I came clean with my wife right away. |
Re: 63 split window
I enjoyed it. Thanks for the laugh!

Hey, those pictures were of better quality than some 'real' car eBay auctions I've seen!
