69 Camaro NOS Door Handles
 

NOS 69 Camaro door handles. Part # 3064224 and 3064225 in the GM boxes.

I opened up the boxes and discovered the left handle has some minor shelf wear. and wanted to be as accurate as possible in my description.

When you are looking straight down on the part, the (shelf wear)is located on the fat part of the handle right above where the locking button is located. It is very faint and hard to see, and if you run your fingernail across that area at just the right angle, you can feel it. I attempted to take a picture of that area,(see last two pics)but my camera will not show the detail, because the chrome is too shiny.

The right handle is perfect.

Sam,

Good question, and I am not sure. Is there a way to positively identify the original fat handles, vs the newer style? I've got the original GM boxes, would that be of any use? Can anyone help to correctly identify these?

I know the originals (assembly line) were the fatter, heavier handles but not sure about ALL the NOS ones.

I went and mic'ed my old originals and they are all between .437 and .442 inch vertically in the center where you put your hand.

I just measured my originals on the 67 Nova and they are .510 -.515 where you grab the handles.{Measured up and down...not back to front} So are they the "FAT" handles?

I don't think it's polite to call those handles FAT Dave. I think you should say pleasantly plump.

I just checked my handles on the 67 Nova and they are the same thickness so are they the &quot;PLUMP&quot; handles then?

These measure .612 and .613.

Here's some clarity on my measurements. The reading of .612 comes from measuring across
the middle of the handle like Danny's example.

When I measure the handle like Bruce's example I come up with .257 on the right handle and .283 on the left handle.

A measurement of .26ish are the thin ones :(

From the pics they look like the later thin replacements and not the assembly line correct thick ones like Sam has in his ad.

Getting some conflicting info..
Can somebody who is certain they have an abnormal plumper handle,state the measurement of the fattest center portion here by using a caliper like bergy did?
...and if possible,the part # cast inside the button are.

I just measured two sets of original &quot;Plump&quot; handles and 3 of them are at .585-.590 and the one is at .600 with Calipers. The driver side one is the one at .600.

The two handles are off my 67 Nova that are .585 to .590 the third is off a 67 Chevelle and is .585 and .600. I took the buttons off and don't see any part #. Am I looking in the wrong place for the #? {The two Nova ones are still on the car.}
