Re: Looking for a few 1969 L89 Chevelle`s for MCACN's
The second one I know lots about.
One of my all time favorite 1969 Chevelles. 19K original miles, drag car, then they (Landy Performance) put it back to stock as they were trying to sell it. (I have saved adds for this car, everywhere from 75K to 39K, but I think a few scammers were stealing the pictures later on) I E-Mailed back and forth many times with Adam Landolfi and I convinced him to not paint it. (He wanted so badly to paint it..................NOOOOOOOOO,original paint with only a few marks here and there. We emailed several times about the engine choice as well and he added the L89 heads at that time. As far as I know it is a real deal L78 but not originally an L89. We chatted about the white front seats which he had put back to stock as well. I posted the pictures he sent me, that are not on the website. Ryan http://landysperformance.com/vell.htm We used to E-mail back and forth and then everything went quiet, eventually saw this posted on the website that he had passed on. (sad) http://landysperformance.com/index.htm https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...140-boyzf1.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...141-boyzf3.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...2-dsc05692.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...3-dsc05693.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...4-dsc05694.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...5-dsc05695.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...6-dsc05697.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...7-dsc05696.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...8-dsc05698.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...9-dsc05699.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...0-dsc05701.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...1-dsc05702.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...2-dsc05703.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...3-dsc05704.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...4-dsc05705.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...5-dsc05706.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...6-dsc05707.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...7-dsc05708.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...8-dsc05709.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...9-dsc05710.jpg |
Re: Looking for a few 1969 L89 Chevelle`s for MCACN's
Here is an 1969 Chevelle SS 396 L78/L89's that I would like to know more about.......
I saved an add prior to this car selling at BJ. (some of these pictures are from BJ, some from the previous sale. http://www.barrett-jackson.com/appli...=90&aid=52 https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...10162-5e_3.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...10163-8e_3.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...10164-76_3.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...engine_web.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...nt_3_4_web.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...terior_web.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...ar_3_4_web.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...rofile_web.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...10170-af_3.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...10171-b7_3.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...10172-f2_3.jpg |
Re: Looking for a few 1969 L89 Chevelle`s for MCACN's
Sad to hear that Adam has passed..... I wonder where the OG L78 Chevelle is today......and can only hope that it is still original paint.

Re: Looking for a few 1969 L89 Chevelle`s for MCACN's
There is a guy in Cleveland with a nice FG/green L89 hardtop. Believe it is original engine. I take it you have been in touch with him?

I don't have all the back story on this beauty but have been told it is "right as rain". Hope to find it.......somebody must know something? The only lead I have at the moment is to call Floyd Garrett and get any info on the owner that had it at his museum. Ryan |
Re: Looking for a few 1969 L89 Chevelle`s for MCACN's
What's the story on this orange car?
|
Re: Looking for a few 1969 L89 Chevelle`s for MCACN's
This is what I have so far.
Ryan "Here are a few pictures of the Adkins Monaco Orange SS396 300 Deluxe Post Sedan, which was pulled out of Floyd`s Museum sometime in 2012. Since the Motorbooks International Muscle Car publication the Adkins Chevelle did receive the Black side stripe, and the Chevelle is no longer owned by Gary Adkins." https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/ubbt...pics/512816/16 |
Re: Looking for a few 1969 L89 Chevelle`s for MCACN's
I seen Mr Adkins at a car show in Nashville in 2007 and said he had gave the Chevelle to his son who looked to be 18/19 at the time. My immediate reaction was wow what a waste of machinery. Thats the last time I saw it. I thought his name was Roger.
|
Re: Looking for a few 1969 L89 Chevelle`s for MCACN's
You think it was real given the reproduction window sticker?
|
Re: Looking for a few 1969 L89 Chevelle`s for MCACN's
Helmut,
I know lots and lots of real documented car owners that buy these reproduction window stickers because they are cool. These window stickers are more of a way to show the car off....if someone happens to add to the window sticker more options to the car then when it left the show room, that I condemn. I CERTAINLY UNDERSTAND THE OLE SAYING.... IF THIS IS FRAUD....THAN CERTAINLY THE ENTIRE CAR IS A FRUAD. My opinion is that these window stickers should not hold merit on whether any car is real or not. A professional inspection is what I consider the best way to determine a cars integrity. Dan |

I want to find this car, my hope is it is a real deal, documented, history back to day one, car worthy of attending MCACN. (A window sticker doesn't make a car real or not real) Ryan |
Re: Looking for a few 1969 L89 Chevelle`s for MCACN's
I spoke with the gentleman from Cleveland with the L89 car...unfortunately he is not interested in attending. Sorry to get your hopes up!

Re: Looking for a few 1969 L89 Chevelle`s for MCACN's
I bought a car from Roger Adkins with the L89 post last year about this time and the car was there at his building at that time. The car looked to be original paint and interior he said it was a original car.

Re: Looking for a few 1969 L89 Chevelle`s for MCACN's
No problem. This is a different car than the green one you posted pics of.

Re: Looking for a few 1969 L89 Chevelle`s for MCACN's
----Ryan,,,Have you lined up the rarest L89 Chevelle yet? The black on black L89 El Camino (my old car with somewhere around 16,000 original miles). Last I knew, when it was last at MCACN it was residing in NJ. Bob A would probably be able to reach out to the owner (cant remember his name). Would love another reunion with it......Bill S
