can't shake the mopar bug in me...
Well I did it, placed a deposit today on a garage-find 70 ebody 340 4 spd cuda convert. They are still out there! My friend found it and gave me first shot. Its painted silver now (no rust!), but it is a B5 blue with black interior and black top.
Comes with window sticker and buildsheet, original driveline. a very happy day (although the 71 cuda I never planned to sell has to go - wife's orders). |

WoW nice, I doubt that anyone could walk away from a find like that, GM or Ford guys incl.
I like the clean no-bumble-bee or trunk spoiler look. Dave |

Re: can't shake the mopar bug in me...
I'm sure Barry Washington would like to learn more about this car - would you consider adding it to his registry?
www.hamtramck-historical.com You'll also notice his website is one of the best resources for Mopars. |

Bashton MCACN Managing Member www.mcacn.com </div></div> I will do my best to drive it there, it runs a drives fine, as well as register it with barry and also the convertible registry. I have spoken many times with barry over the years, and he is one of the best stand-up mopar guys around. Not too many like him. The window sticker shows $189 for an AM with 8 track STEREO! and its still in the car. Car was also built with the elastomeric front bumper (nice suprize yesterday), ofcourse its missing now unfortunately. Its wierd they rolled the lips of the front fenders on this car, like a hemi fender. Maybe all 15" wheeled cars got this? tires on it now, same ones as in 1973 pictures: http://i358.photobucket.com/albums/o...psae25fa41.jpg super rare 8 track stereo with 3 speaker dash and cross over.. http://i358.photobucket.com/albums/o...psff90004a.jpg factory rolled fenders? why on a 340 car? http://i358.photobucket.com/albums/o...psd9ebcf1c.jpg |

Many cars slated for 15" wheels had the fenders rolled - it wasn't just a hemi thing. The E60-15 cars (most likely the size yours came with) got it too...More often than not it was missed by the assembly line guys though |
Re: can't shake the mopar bug in me...
enjoy.
http://board.moparts.org/ubbthreads/...Number=4980648 http://board.moparts.org/ubbthreads/...ue#Post6260700 also possible the fenders were replaced with factory sheet metal due to an accident at some point - the rolled fenders were often seen on parts counter pieces |
Re: can't shake the mopar bug in me...
I have seen a separate fender tag with "H E M I F E N D E R" stamped on it, indicating a rolled lip fender and 15 inch rims.

Re: can't shake the mopar bug in me...
car has the U82 E60 15 wide oval code, and w21 ralley wheel code. core support is perfect (partial vin on one side, date code on other).
Interesting thread on moparts that was posted, you cant beat info from a guy that actually did the rolling of the lips. car is a feb 1 car, so its before the march cutoff for hand rolling at creative industries described in that thread. The wheel lip molding is off the car and I need to look at that for clues if it follows the cutting described in that thread. None the less, its just interesting to learn about things like this. I mainly care to have original sheetmetal on a car, and thats the goal to find out. |

hey.. link us the thread where the guy talks about rolling the fenders....

Nice car, love hearing about these finds!

Re: can't shake the mopar bug in me...
Great car! the wheel lips on my original sheet metal '70 hemi are rolled, but not as much as the ones in your picture.

Hi, it was posted a little earlier by another member in this thread. When you read it, search for 'mike_s' and he is the guy that rolled the fenders on one side of the cars, for about 5 months. What I find cool, is that he came out of the woodwork in 2010 if I look at that post. He reversed a lot of assumptions about the hemi fender by other experts, even one had to post a retraction. Its fun to read barry washington testing some theories against him. |
Re: can't shake the mopar bug in me...
I own a third week of march built ta challenger with rolled lip fenders. But the roll is not that long. Also could a car with rolled lip also have wheel well moldings????

I think the answer to that is in this thread below posted earlier by tracker: The roll length on the 70 convert is 6" on the passenger side (sounds closer to being correct) and maybe 8" on the drivers side (yep, not sure if this is correct or not). Your car should have the factory stamped fenders because its in march. http://board.moparts.org/ubbthreads/...Number=4980648 |

Yes - wheel well moldings with rolled lips - as I recall, the top lip area is cut out.
