Cool looking cal. How much does the fact that it was converted in 1974 hurt the value? I think I would have done a little cleaning before taking pictures of a car I was asking $400K for.

----If I could read the "history" I might be able to find out how it only has 739 original miles on it. Cant tell how the car was equipped new except 4-speed and hugger O. Not sure Im going for the mileage, but I guess it probably doesnt matter much. Maybe thats since conversion???.......Bill S

According to Geoff Stunkard the car was bought new from Curtis Person Chevrolet in Millington, TN by Chuck Hamilton. It was drag raced until it was sent to Motion for the upgrades.

Re: 1969 Chevrolet Camaro 427 ZLX Baldwin Motion Phase

It's a neat car, but the fact that it is pretty much a full on race car and modified much later in life by the Motion shop it appeals to a much smaller audience of collectors, which has kept the value well below that of a 69 Baldwin Motion Camaro that was modified new by Motion and sold new through Baldwin Chevrolet in 1969.

The car has gone through a number of owners the past several years, so hopefully it finds a long term home by someone who will appreciate it. Sure would be a lot of fun to blast through the gears.

Re: 1969 Chevrolet Camaro 427 ZLX Baldwin Motion Phase

I was at a car show a few years ago and the Camaro was there. Not sure who the owner was at the time, but it was pretty funny watching him try to move the car out of the building afterwards. It's like he was afraid to bring the engine up to a good rpm to pull out. He kept letting the clutch out at a little more than an idle and it kept bucking and stalling.
I wonder why someone hasn't added period correct carbs yet?

I'd venture to say that with two 4500's on top that this thing fouls and eats plugs like there's no tomorrow. If it also happens to still have a puck-style, clutch disc/pressure plate that's either in-or-out combined with a monster duration camshaft that doesn't do anything below 4000 RPM, I would imagine that a car like this wouldn't be very much fun to own for the average collector.

Just joined now, i'm the owner of this car, i bought a collection and this was one of the cars, the miles are actual' quarter mile at a time, chuck hamilton bought this car new and raced it as a Z28 and had motion convert it in 1974. Baldwin chevrolet was a small dealership and alot of their cars came from other dealerships and customers brought their cars to joel rosen because of the great things motion performance did to their cars, this forum is a great site and glad a member of this told me about it tonight, i have a couple motion cars and glad i found out about this great site.
