1970 Oldsmobile 442 Convertible, PS, PB, AC, Non original motor 455, its 396021 F with Casting “E”. Shows 87K on the odometer. This was a complete frame off restore from nut to bolt. The engine is completely rebuilt with an aftermarket intake, cam and new carb. Its the period correct engine block could be from an 70 Oldsmobile Toronado or 98. The trans is the original and completely rebuild. Painted in the original Sherwood Green color. Have the complete brown interior plus all the original trim. Car is about 80% together with everything brand new as seen. I do have tons of extra parts and two extra doors. I have the full history on the car plus every receipt on what was purchased.

I have the original build sheet as well. I’m starting @ $25,000.00 but we can talk....

Very nice start to the restoration. I sadly listed my 442 that I have owned for 35 years today on this site. After restoring my car I can say that is an excellent buy for your car. Lee

Re: 1970 Olds 442 Convertible

That is one helluva deal. And Green is my color! The biggest hurdle here is logistics. If that car and all the components weren't so darn far away it would be in my garage going back together. If you have a way to finish the project, I would recommend it; selling a car in pieces is hard to do and even harder to get any kind of money for it. You're right!!! All the hard work does appear to be done and it looks like it's downhill from here (there). I don't know if Thornton would buy something without the original drivetrain and a restoration that they did not perform from start to finish---I guess all it involves is a phone call. Anyway, good luck with whatevere road you choose.

Re: 1970 Olds 442 Convertible

Thanks DW31S! Logistic does seem to be a factor for most people. IF I had 10K laying around I certainly finsh the car. It would be a super easy finsh...FYI. The drivetrain is all orginal with the orginal trans, drivetrain (drive shift) and rear-end. The most expensive redo was the rear-end rebuild itself. If I know Thornton they would start back at the bottom and rebuild back to there spec's. One thing I shouldn't have done is power coat all the parts/engine parts in glossy black. Should have the proper orginal was semi or flat black.

Re: 1970 Olds 442 Convertible

DW31S! I do have all the bumpers straighten and rechromed which was NOT cheap. Many extra parts and also two extra doors. All new brake lines (inline tube) All new trans lines...Correct rims and painted to color. New tires as well.
