They are great distibutors if they are set up properly. I know for a fact those distributors will go 10k rpm without the points bouncing. The YC -310-HP versions are non vacuum advance. Not sure what you are doing with it, but look for one with the vacuum advance for the street.

Brent,

Could this work for you?

Used Mallory YC310HP Distributor

It is used but nice and best of all, it is cheap.

There is a guy over on the HAMB forum that installs the electronic pertronix stuff in the old Mallory distributors. I am thinking of converting a couple of mine some day. keep the vintage look and have maintenance free fire power under the cap..

Not trying to hi jack your thread, but the PerTronix Ignitor kits are super easy to install and anyone can do it with basic hand tools. We install around 10 to 15 a year in my shop and it has never took more than an hour to do one.
The Mallory YC series will use p.n. M-L 189 for 12 volt systems and the YC Double Life and Rev-Pol will use p.n. 187A.

Hey Kent, I was away from the computer. Saw your post on my phone but replying by phone is still a real task for me... He goes by GMC BUBBA on the Hamb. His number is 888-809-3835. Here are his links: Bubbas hot rod shop

Here's a link to a thread on the Hamb about the Mallory stuff.

HAMB Thread

Hope this helps Kent
