Repop chrome parts-opinion

Just wondering what people think of the repopped door handles, exterior mirrors, etc that are out there? Junk? Nice?

Need some inner and outer door handles and an exterior mirror for my 1969 Biscayneand not sure if they're junk or not.

Also, is OER stuff better than say, Goodmark? Or do they source these parts from the same manufacturer?

Thanks

They are nice, but if you have a car that originally came with the fatter door handles, you're better off having them rechromed.
Haven't found anyone reopping those.....................yet.

Thanks guys. NOS would be nice, but money, as it probably will always be, is an issue.

Any ideas on how much to rechrome them?

Really?? Wow, that's cheaper than the repops. Do you have their info, if you wouldn't mind...?

I think it depends on the level of restoration you are tring to achieve and how much you are going to use the car. If you are going for an all original show judged car then NOS to original restored is the way to go. But, if you are building a driver for the local cruise night, then repro will work perfectly.

hey Rick, I will give you $30.00 a set. Trim Parts are pretty good and fit. 80% of the people would never know repop, NOS whatever as long as they are shiny!

I just took a set of door handles and buttons to Courtesy and the cost is $120 for the pair now.
I'd still do it again as all the repo stuff is not quite right.

Won't have the handles back for about 5 weeks.
I'll post pics after I get them.

----Just a contrarion thought, but lots of pieces go to the plater and get buffed to oblivion. All the sharp edges get ground off and the pieces dont appear original anymore. Specific instructions have to be given to the guy who does the actual work. I have had friends that sent Corvette KO spinners to the platers and got back spinners that have no relation to the originals. I have a set of "NOS" spinners at the platers right now that were in my shop fire and even with my specific instructions and thier best intentions Im really worried about what Im going to get back......Bill S

Yeah, I had that very same concern, so I made sure to instruct my plater to leave all the fine details in place when cleaning the parts in prep for the replate.

Another fine example of how WE make these cars just as good or more times even better than new
