Jason,

I am not aware of any 3X2 intakes used in production on SBC. Only BBC. Early Corvettes did use 2X4 from 56-61.

There was a very short run of Winters castings 3x2 manifolds that were fit for three Holley two barrel carbs as a trial to see if it would work for a Trans Am Camaro. The odds that this is one of them about equals that of getting a winning lottery ticket, but still possible. If that should happen, you want to own it..... .....at almost any price. Oh, the Holley carb numbers that they used don't show up on any normal lists either.

In the 50s and 60s, they made three aluminum duece Stromberg (sp?) kits that were very popular. I had one on my 56 Chevy and it ran stronger than a single four barrel. I never had any problems with it. Base price may be 300-500. If you don't have any luck with them, keep me in the loop. *Paul

Re: GM SBC 3 deuce intake carb set-up. Whats it worth?

Well I bought it. What a cool day 2 piece. It is complete. The guy I bought it from had it on his 60 chevy. He said it was GM? But I couldn't find the winters mark on the intake. It has 3 rochester 2 jet carbs on it. I also got a pair of corvette 7 fin valve covers with the stagered holes. A NOS delco dual point distributor, still in the delco box. Also a set of 57 vette fuel injection emblems in the GM boxes. These three things will be for sale in the for sale section later on tonight.

If the front & back carbs are 2Gs and NOT 2GCs, then I'd value the entire set-up including the linkage at $800 minimum. Rebuild the carbs and you might be looking at $1200 - $1500.
Street Rodders, and especially Tradional Hot Rodders LOVE these things! (I have a set-up myself!)

GM (Chevy) made 3x2 intakes for the W motors & the Mark IVs but I've never seen a "GM" 3x2 intake for a SBC.

Re: GM SBC 3 deuce intake carb set-up. Whats it worth?

The front and rear carburetors have idle mixture screws so they are 2GC's. Not actual tri power end carburetors.

Just as a reference. I got $650 for this setup on ebay with a no reserve auction and 9.99 opening bid. Offenhauser intake manifold, correct tri power dumper end carburetors with no mixture screws or choke provisions, linkage, fuel block and fuel lines along with air cleaners and it was a very clean and nice working setup. My value opinion is based on a few of these style of setups that I have owned and sold in the past.

Street Roders love them on a sbc, they use 1970 2b carbs, rated at 500cfm each. The trouble is the center carb fuel line ,wont fit, make it your self and go fast and fun to drive.

Re: GM SBC 3 deuce intake carb set-up. Whats it worth?

Matt,

I'm just relating what I've seen lately too. I saw one sell yesterday at a swap meet; much rougher than yours, Edelbrock, 3 2GCs with air cleaners & linkage, but no fuel block and it brought over $900. He was asking $1400 and rather than load it up to go home he let it go for the reduced price.
I'm betting you made someone very happy at your price.

Re: GM SBC 3 deuce intake carb set-up. Whats it worth?

Well it is a cool piece. I want to build a rat rod in the future. I am not even sure If I want to sell it. But I would if someone is interested..... I already have a guy interested at work for 650.00 the way it is. I have to bring it to work tomorrow. We will see.

Thanks for all the replys
Jason
