Wanted a real 1969 Z28.....

For the past 4 weeks I have been helping out a buddy who is looking to buy a real 69 Z28. He goes on line and finds something and has me check it out for him. I saw him this morning and told him I would post an ad here and see if anyone had anything. He's not looking for a project car but one that is ready to drive. He likes the Lemans Blue and Cortez Silver colors.

Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Wanted a real 1969 Z28.....

We have discussed it and he's looking for fair market value for a real car. The ones he's found online and had me check out all have issues except one in florida but he was too late in pulling the trigger.

He had me check out one in the midwest that was "real" and when I asked the guy for a pic of the trim tag, I was told it was missing from the car.

My buddy is an older guy who owns a service station that has been around since 54 when his father started it. He has some nice rides but doesn't know much about the 69's....

Eddie M. Has an outstanding Z (it's in my garage right now ). Daytona yellow, 4.10s, original drivetrain, paper work, owner history. Nice, nice car.

I'll send him this post so he can chime in.

We have an absolute best of the best restored, documented, original drivetrain Fathom Green Z28 available for $125k. I can count the reproduction parts used on one hand, maybe two. Mostly original or NOS.

Re: Wanted a real 1969 Z28.....

Guys, thanks for all the emails and pm's. Today my friend finally closed a deal on a '69 Z. I have enjoyed helping my buddy out and sincerely appreciate all the support this site has provided. I have seen some awesome rides and wish I would win the mega millions so I can pick up a few of the ones I have seen and then some.... :youguysrock:

Re: Wanted a real 1969 Z28.....

I think your friend is real lucky to have only spent a little over 4 weeks looking for one of these. It took me almost 5 years, mind you that was mid 90's, more internet now I suppose.

Re: Wanted a real 1969 Z28.....

Wondering if this the same car that BigG previously offered in this thread?

'69 Camaro Z/28 RS Yellow, GM of Canada docs. VIN 124379N645585

This car was sold at Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale 2015, Lot #1257

http://www.barrett-jackson.com/Archi...-CAMARO-181472

Not much of a description at the B-J auction site other than:

"This 1969 Camaro has been professionally restored to Z/28 specifications. The car was re-bodied using GM sheet metal and is finished in stunning Daytona Yellow with black stripes and black vinyl top. The drivetrain is date code correct to the build date of the car and also features GM of Canada documentation to the VIN of this vehicle."

I make this assumption based on the following:

BigG = Gary Pronman

1) BigG's brother Dan, listed this car on eBay back in March 2014 (ebay: 251535175858) and it was a no-sale.

2) Gary's brother Dan Pronman was at the January B-J auction and on stage, so I assume that they were the ones that consigned it.

If it's not the same '69 Canadian documented yellow RS Z/28, it is damn similar....

Hey, does anyone remember that 9 page thrashing BigG took about an allegedly misrepresented, possibly re-stamped L78 Nova: https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/ubbt...opics/242472/1 ?

Wonder what BigG (Gary Pronman) is going to offer next on Yenko.net?

Re: Wanted a real 1969 Z28.....

BigG and Styles. As far as I know the two of you have had a legal dispute for awhile. I don't want it dragged up here.

Styles 08-11-2015 11:35 PM

Re: Wanted a real 1969 Z28.....

Hi Charley,

If you feel my post is in violation of the terms of use of this forum, please feel free to censor it promptly.

Just because people may or not be embroiled in an ongoing legal dispute shouldn't be a reason to not post about a car with checkered past.

If re-bodied cars aren't considered a "bad thing" here on yenko.net, then clearly I made a mistake by posting.

Charley Lillard 08-12-2015 01:11 AM

Re: Wanted a real 1969 Z28.....

Between the two of you you have a total of less than 100 posts. I don't want your bickering here.
