Re: Green COPO in British Columbia ...N635036
Address is a wealty neighbourhood of West Vancouver, there is no house at that particular address according to Google Map, Liscence on the car in the photo shows its in Ontairo along with some of the other inventory.
If anybody needs further research done on the individual let me know. |

Don Stower's formally owned 69 Yenko had "COPO" written in white grease pencil on the crossmember. He has a photo of it but unfortunately I do not. |

EW - Don, howz 'bout a picture! Thanks Rick.
So-why do you think that would be there? |
Re: Green COPO in British Columbia ...N635036
Don asked me to post his comment and these photos...
<span style="font-weight: bold">"<span style="font-style: italic">First picture is how I found it 24 years ago and the second picture is my recreation based off of the tracing I made. It was put on before the exhaust was installed as the head pipe would interfere with writing on it. Thanks, Don</span>"</span> http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...erXmbrCOPO.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...rXmbrCOPO1.jpg I am still interested in comments on why this would have been marked as such. 427 and 396 trans x-mbr would have been the same - right? Thanks, Sam |
Re: Green COPO in British Columbia ...N635036
could it have had anything to do with Exhaust or routing of other items?

Re: Green COPO in British Columbia ...N635036
Since everything is virtually identical between a 375/396 and the 427 could it be that the Central Office Production Order cars required special care and notations on the assembly line and the "COPO" identified the subframe/engine/and trans assembly as special and out of the ordinary???? Re: Green COPO in British Columbia ...N635036
Also there are COPO cars documented as having "427" written on the inside of the fender extension from the factory.

Re: Green COPO in British Columbia ...N635036
427 on the fender extension and COPO on the cross member not all that uncommon. JMO

Re: Green COPO in British Columbia ...N635036
Detroit 60 is a car broker in West Vancouver, the owner is from Ontario and has a number of cars for sale. I called and spoke to someone on a '69 Z28 they had for sale and was told the cars are not in Vancouver but Ontario and the current owner is thinning his collection.
