Re: 1987 Motion Monte Carlo
Odd that I can't seem to pull up those 87 Motion Monte pics. I'm assuming you bought it from Joe C in RI, he also had Joel's wife's Motion Mustang if my memory is functioning today. Had a couple of shots of them together outside the shop.

Re: 1987 Motion Monte Carlo
Hi Guys, That is not the car I purchased, My car is a one owner long island car from bast chevy. My friend Mike, who I got the car from brought it to Joel and told him money is no object. I want to blow away mustang gts. 5 invoices later and over a year of building this car, Joel with paint work from gary the local brush delivered this masterpiece. This car was in the nassau coliseum 1990 car show with joel in attendance, and took first place, only time the car was ever on display. The original motor from the aero coupe,a 350 with a supercharger, was put into the car.The last project car built at motion. Its black,it even has a/c. total invoice $30,546.76 Will post pics soon.

Re: 1987 Motion Monte Carlo
I have a picture of the car at the nassau coliseum, Joel is not in the pic. Its the only pic from the show,I also have the first place trophy. I have all the docs and paperwork just have not picked up car yet. Will do this weekend. This is one that was under wraps since 1990. Maybe the most highly optioned motion car ever.

Re: 1987 Motion Monte Carlo
Congrats on your new toy Anthony!.
Certainly cool especially if THE last Motion built car!. Am I understanding correctly that the white pictured Monte is an Aerocoupe and your black car is not?. Also the engine w/ supercharger from a white Aerocoupe, from this same pictured car too?. Looking forward to the pics!. ~ Pete |
Re: 1987 Motion Monte Carlo
Pete, My car is a true 1987 ss black car, no aero coupe, my friend who I purchased the car from had Joel build him a one of a kind monte. Took about a year and a few months to complete. Joel wanted to sell him the aero coupe, but my friend did not like the body style. So the aero coupe's motor was transplanted into the black car,I don't know what motor Joel put back in the aero coupe. hope that answers your question. The pic is a grand national Joel worked on, my car was a total motion build, like I said over $30,000 to complete.

Re: 1987 Motion Monte Carlo
Hi:
I passed on your comments about your Motion Monte Carlo to Joel Rosen and his response is below: "I BUILT THE BLACK CAR, BUT IT WASN’T THE LAST CAR BY ANY MEANS." Sounds like you have a neat car. I never saw your car when Joel was building the Montes but did get a ride in his white Aero Monte and it was fast. You might want to get a documentation letter from Joel regarding details on the car including the engine history. Marty |
Re: 1987 Motion Monte Carlo
Pictures please!!!!
|
Re: 1987 Motion Monte Carlo
Marty...the way I read his post was that he said it was the last car done in 1990....
I could be wrong though |
Re: 1987 Motion Monte Carlo
I'd thought the exact same thing at first too Bruce but noted his second post included <span style="font-style: italic">"...The last project car built at motion..." </span> so the reason I had 'especially if THE last' in my own posting..
VERY cool car either way!!! Looking forward to the pics also more details of the engine!. ~ Pete |

Re: 1987 Motion Monte Carlo
Hi Marty, Just to respond to your post. I have a full 5 page invoice, Joel knows the car very well. The aero coupe motor was transplanted into my car. He wrote the invoices himself, motor from Mr Motions white aero coupe . From what my friend told me this was the last project car that motion did, I mean 31 grand thats a lot of dough in 1990. In any event this car is as documented as they come. I even have a pic of the car at the motion display at the Nassau Coliseum in 1990 which it won first place, and I have the trophy. When I get the car at my house and figure out how to post pics I will do so.

Re: 1987 Motion Monte Carlo
I don't think any of my comments questioned the authenticity of your car. Joel acknowledged that he built it. He was questioning your comment about it being the "last MOTION car."
According to him, it's not. Hope you can post pix when you get it. Marty |
Re: 1987 Motion Monte Carlo
Hi again Marty, I did not think you questioning the car. I was just telling the board what my friend told me. He did not say it was the last car worked on at motion, He said it was the last car of this magnitude that motion built. Does not really matter to me anyway. Will post pics when car is here.

Re: 1987 Motion Monte Carlo
Hi:
Please let me be clear about both mine and Joel's comments. No way was anyone dumping on your car. The question was only about "the last MOTION car built." Your response was: "He did not say it was the last car worked on at motion, He said it was the last car of this magnitude that motion built." We are not talking about cars worked on at MOTION. Joel simply said it was not the last MOTION car built, nothing to do with cars being worked on in the shop or magnitude of cars. I suggest that you write to Joel to determine if your car was the last MOTION Monte Carlo built. That would be great provenance to have with your car. Marty |
Re: 1987 Motion Monte Carlo
Marty, Thats a good point, im pretty sure it was the last monte built. I think, but I could be wrong, there was only two mine and the white aero coupe. Just a thought.
|
Re: 1987 Motion Monte Carlo
I know your car was built after the white Aero Coupe. However, I believe there were others. Joel can tell you for sure what the count was, but there were more than two.
