a slight difference

When I bought the 68 it was a ten bolt mono leaf and solid but dirty... I swapped to a 12 bolt multileaf and added the traction bars. This past weekend I got some more detail work done underneath and added the new tank. I think it looks a little bit better myself . The 3:73 ratio made a lot of difference over what ever it had before.... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...emlins/eek.gif

This is the craigs list picture that was sent to me by a friend on steves nova site. I took a chance and drove to St. louis and was quite pleased with what I found.

That's cool. That's the way a lot of them looked back then, wheels and traction bars!

Thanks guys. I am almost done with it. I have really enjoyed this car, a turn key driver that I can add things to or replace things and still drive it the next day is alot of fun.. The new engine is almost done and I have almost everything I need to convert from auto to 4 speed and that should be about it...

Very nice Tommy! It looks completely different from when I saw it in March. I'll have to take the after shots of mine this weekend. The 4.10 12 bolt posi is in, working on the NOS NMW Ladder Bars right now.

Re: a slight difference

Chris, with a stock interior (cloth bench) I don't want to do to much because in my opinion there is a point to where it starts to look cobbled up when you add a lot of things but stop short in some areas.... I don't know if that makes any sense. The new engine is all orange without alot of chrome but does have a deep sump pan and I think I may add a vintage MSD (embossed logo) to the engine bay. Some little Day 2 items will be worked onto the car but I don't think I'll go with the skinnies or tow tabs on this one. I have NOS Autometer guages from 1970 that I will be adding soon and that will really accent the inside https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/cool.gif

Tommy, what's your rear tire/wheel combo? Any clearance issues?

15x7's with 245/60's. The fender lips are cleaned up a bit underneath. What is odd is that they had been clearanced some already before I bought it. I raised the rear about an inch to keep the tires from rubbing the outer wheel house. I can't remember the wheel offset.

That's kinda what I expected you to say. I'm running 14 x 7s with a 1 ½" pos offset and F70s. Driver side is OK but the pass side was really tight. Air shocks are the temporary fix but there's a spring swap in the near future.
Thanks.

Re: a slight difference

The rear ends in the Novas are offset a little anyway and the passenger side is always the tight side... A "flaw in the slaw" as James Best would have put it....
