Using this CRG page http://www.camaros.org/numbers.shtml#67Codes
the 3L indicates the Z22 R/S equipment..

Car needed some work a few years ago. Was in CT.

Re: Need a decode

CT? It has Rockford, IL stickers all over it! Either way, it still needs some work but the engine, trans, and front suspension has been done. Not the original engine, not sure if the trans/rear are original. A buddy bought it recently, the RS part is pretty neat - although my limited research shows there was some 60k+ RS's in '67, so not rare - but neat.

Sounds like one my sister and brother in law sent me pictures of with a for sale sign in the window last summer around the Northern ILL/IA boarder. Ill have to ask them to dig up the pictures again. Think i got the VIN for that car as well.

Well, looks like it may have gotten around! It's in PA now in my buddy's garage, he bought it from a local car dealer who apparently took it in on a trade or something like that. It's rough.

If I was in N. IL Jeff, we'd surely get together re: Jr's - my son is asking 'how much do they cost?' If he only knew.... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif

Re: Need a decode

Do '67 rs's have the parking lights below the bumper? Are there special ways to tell if that valance panel is original vs. repop? How about the hood, any telltale signs that it's an original vs. a repop?

rspanther 03-17-2009 12:28 AM

Re: Need a decode

Yes the park lights are below the bumper in the valance. Not really sure of any big tells on the valance but on the hood I look at the welds on the area that rests on the core support hood adjuster bumpers original is nice clear round spot welds repop a little fuzzy not real distinct also the metal on the inner structure is real sharp on repop .Hope that helps

Did the '67 Camaro's have the D80 option? I recall a discussion about this some time ago based on the factory photo of a '67 Z with a rear spoiler, but was not sure if any production cars received one. The car I wanted the decode on has a rear spoiler, prop rods appear to be the same size though - so I'm thinking it was added!

Looks like I need to update my sig...... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif This car was previously titled in IL, and was titled in PA in 1997 - so I'm not sure about the CT angle, but anything is possible. My little 16 month old Danny has a project car!

PS: Only have a B&W pic of him scanned at the moment, but this was the look on his face when I told that I just bought him his first car! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif

The D-80 option was not available at all on '67 Zs.

Or any other 67 Camaro. It was not available as a factory option for 1967 camaros.

Is this an original or repro hood?

Re: Done Deal

Marlin,

There was a thread (I believe in the Team camaro site) that showed the edge of the hood along the side closest to the windshield. The GM hood has a "double step" where it angles up and the repo just angles straight up to the corner point of the hood. I wish I could explain it in words better and a picture is worth a thousand words. There is a great pic on that thread comparing the 2, but I just cant seem to find it...If you ask over there, Im sure they will locate it for you.

good luck...max

Thanks! I wonder if the same detail is present in an SS hood vs. a cowl hood?

Snagged a pic of the interior:

Anyone understand this decal? There are three of them on the windshield, each dated a different year.

Looks like a typical towns annual vehicle registration sticker, only commemorating this.
