Old gassers and 409 cars event

FYI: I know a few here like the nostalgic gassers and maybe 1 or 2 who like the old boat anchor cars. There is an event planned at Thompson Raceway Park in Ohio June 5-6-7 that will feature both. I don't know how many gassers are registered but according to the 348-409 web site http://www.348-409.com/forum/showthread.php?t=15892 there are over 20 409 cars registered so far. They're under IHRA rules and it will be on index brackets, heads up.
Here's the link to the track. http://www.thompsonracewaypark.com/i...&Itemid=54

Could be big??? I'm SURE not everyone who's going with a 409 car has registered on the 348-409 web site https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif

Nope, I won't have one ready to run by then. I plan to be there to help run this one.

New intake, chassis changes, 3500lbs....9.68 (no bottle, steel fenders, iron block & heads, 4-spd) https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif
He's still getting used to hitting second with 3 feet of air under the front tires. He says its "violent". https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif

I don't have any recent pictures. It has a different hood on it now.

Chassis has been done for a while (except we're still looking for a pair of 9.00-14 whitewall cheaters), just received a new set of Jardine tri-Ys from Jerry like the originals he made for the real car. Chassis will be on display at York in July. The body has been stripped, new floor panels and trunk well are in. Working on some patch panels to address some quarter damage. It gets worked on every day. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif

Sam, We have no leads at all for the tires we need.
9.00-14 wide white 2 groove cheaters. I believe the originals were recaps according to Jinks. They were slicks, not Bucrons. If we find a dried up set, they'll do for display, but this car will be making full passes, not just dusted off for static displays so a pair of "good" tires is a must. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif
