You can use an AC697. That will work and that's what I use on the original cowl plenum cars that I own.

Heartbeatcity was selling copies of the original AC #226CW filter,but someone I know who bought one returned it cause it did not fit well at all.
Take a look at Wix #46927R,or even Napa #22096,as less expensive alternatives.

You'll have to call him. He doesn't advertise he has these elements.
Steve sold me 2 for $50/ea still in the AC box!

That is the same place I purchased one from about six monthes ago.It wasnt 50 dollars it was 175.00 .They are the later replacement ones with the ink stamped letters.I just purchased a true original one with the molded in numbers and letters.Very hard to find. John

If you want a real one from 1967 and 1968 it's big bucks. I know of one that sold for over $2000 with the correct diamond strand mesh and embossed "226" in the rubber.

Happy hunting, buy the AC697 for about $10 and be done.
