Helping a Friend

With Bob's permission I am asking everyone to stop for a minute and say a prayer for Bob. He has been diagnosed with a tumor in his neck area. Details are still being made with an operation and treatments to follow. Bob and Nancy really need our support with this. His e-mail address is [email protected]. His mailing address is as follow
Bob Lionberger
407 Louise Street
LaHarpe, Il. 61450
Thanks for your concern for a friend, Ken & Anita

Re: Helping a Friend

Bob, Nancy and their daughter stopped by the shop the other day on their way back from the Springfield doctor's office. They are all very upbeat and have a very positive attitude and with God's help they will pull through this. Bob and Nancy have been huge assets to the hobby and now need our help.

Prayers for Bob and his family have been sent..

Although not all here may agree, prayers are a powerful thing and I'm not ashamed to admit God has without doubt helped myself and those close to me face and get through numerous serious experiences in life thus far...and we ain't done yet!.

W/ the above mentioned prayers and positive attitude he can beat this!.

For those of you that aren't sure who Bob is....He is Helen and Nancy Gibbs neighbor that brings them and their cars to all the events. You have probably met him if you stopped by any of the shows to say Hi to Helen or Nancy.
We are all pulling for you Bob.

Great people, as are all the folks from LaHarpe. I talked with Nancy Lionberger last week and, as Rick said, they are very positive about this. (And Pete, I'm sure Nancy Gibb and Bob and Nancy Lionberger will agree with you!)

All of our energies are focused on Bob Lionberger and Nancy Gibb. We need to get them both back up to speed quickly.
We're with you both. And you have our numbers! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/wink.gif

Bob & Nancy are such an intricate part of, not only the Gibb Memorial Show, but the many other shows in which they have willingly gave of their time and efforts in helping to promote the Gibb name with their many contributions of the Chevrolet Muscle Car Performance. Prayers are extended for a most speedy recovery. Ray

Re: Helping a Friend

With Bob's permission for me to post this, Bob, Nancy and their grandson just stopped by the shop with an update. It was not exactly what they wanted to hear but still very optimistic without going into too much detail. The doctors feel they can get a handle on it, it is just the way they may have to attack it that has them a little nervous as well as some potential side effects if the ulternative is taken. Please say a special prayer for them when sitting down to Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow and remember what we all have to be thankful for. They can use all the prayers they can get.

Again I say, Bob and Nancy are Great People, and well deserving of all our energies. They'll both be in our hearts and prayers 'til they get through this. Discouraging news at this time of year, but then again it gives us another reason to ask Blessings tomorrow......... for our Dearest friends.

Re: Helping a Friend

We had lunch with Bob and Nancy Tuesday and had a few laughs at Gov. Blago's expense. Bob's treatment plan has changed but he is comfortable with the Doctors and the proceedures. This is something new that is only being used in four facilities in the US at present. Bob has researched it himself and THIS is the treatment he prefers. SIU has brought world class technology and people to Springfield the past few years and Bob and Nancy are both ready to get going and get this behind them so they can get on with their lives.
Again, as Kenney Brown said earlier, I'm sure Bob would appreciate hearing from us. Bob's e-mail is [email protected]

Re: Helping a Friend

Just a quick update on Bob L. The radiation (ARC) machine broke down last week, so Bob was only able to get ONE radiation treatment which also meant NO chemo treatment at all. He is headed back to Springfield, Illinois tomorrow to hopefully get to begin what would have been week 3 treatments, but will only be week 2 now.....PLEASE think of him as he is really fighting to beat this and tries sooo hard to be positive---it is frustrating when the equipment isn't working, but he is a FIGHTER !!! He really enjoys hearing from our Car Friends-(FAMILY)as he has to be in the hospital ALL week to be able to get this new type of treatments. "Thank You" to ALL of you who are helping him in this journey..... N.G. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/smile.gif

Nancy,

I guess I can ask Bob directly when we talk with him next but, does he have internet access at St. Johns? I'm making a run to Spfld in a day or two and plan to stop in and say Hi while I'm there; maybe do lunch again if they're available. I'll call and leave a message, or text them to see what their schedule is and if there's anything I can bring. (Maybe some magazines. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/wink.gif )
