All of you Day 2 guys!!!!
I have a question for all of you Day 2 guys! If you were to have your wish of wider than stock Polyglas tires, what size would you be looking for??? I have been talking with John Kelsey quite a bit and he is looking into the feasablity of building a larger than stock size Polyglas. Your input and willingness to purchase something like this will go a long way toward making it happen. Let me hear your thought and opinions!!

Re: All of you Day 2 guys!!!!
L60x15 was the most popular replacement/perf tire back then. I'd buy a pair for the hemi if they made them.

Re: All of you Day 2 guys!!!!
I believe Bob just bought polyglass L60-15s for his car. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif

[/ QUOTE ] I second that, I put L60 15s on my Camaro the week I bought it (7/78), and I have been looking for a useable set to put back on when I get done restoring it (back to how I had it when I first got it). |
Re: All of you Day 2 guys!!!!
I would purchase a set for my nova.
|
Re: All of you Day 2 guys!!!!
L-60-15 is what I would say too.

Re: All of you Day 2 guys!!!!
In a hearbeat.

Re: All of you Day 2 guys!!!!
I still have some H-60x15 Polyglas that I ran on my 70 Z back in the day (2) era.............
Can anybody relate to H-60's I just feel that the L-60's stuck out too far with a stock differential and stock wheelhouse....... my .02 |
Re: All of you Day 2 guys!!!!
I think it depends what wheels you run, I had 15x7 positive offset (2 inch on the inside) Cragars on my Camaro and they just kissed the fender lips. With regular offset (3 1/2 to 4 on the inside) they would look good. Here is a pic of it in "78" with L60s and Cragars:
http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/m...D/scan0001.jpg I have a new set of J60 15s to put on it if I don't find any L60s. Also I have some 275 60 15 BFG's on 5 spoke Rallys for my Son's 74 LT I could put on for comparison, they are about the size of L60s. |
Re: All of you Day 2 guys!!!!
I know Sammy wants some H-70 x 15's....please make them for him so he will stop bugging me. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif
wilma I think the Nova crowd may want at least one choice that is a little narrower....otherwise air shocks will be required. |

Re: All of you Day 2 guys!!!!
I have a pair of L60's on my Chevelle. They look great on the stock wheels.
I would buy a new pair, since these are at least 25 years old. The tread is still excellent, it's just the age that concerns me. [image]http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...b2008021-1.jpg[/image] |

Re: All of you Day 2 guys!!!!
L60/15's and H70/15's. Too much wheel well shows with H60's in my opinion. I like the backs 27-28" tall. I ran H70/14's on the nova back in 1970. They fit perfect on the GM rally wheels. They were Schenuits made by Kelly I believe. You can buy L60 Goodyears fairly easy. I would love to see McCreary come out or repoped with some RWL's in that size. I guess I got to go root around in Philly at Donny White's garage. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/3gears.gif He's got em! I also have a deal brewing with Karen, Tommy's better half on a set of H70 Goodyears. Got to wait till he is out of town though. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif

What- no requests for N-50's?? When I was in high school N-50 tires apparently were sold as a package with air shocks and yellow traction bars. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/cool.gif

Yea, N50-15's. Fit under the stock rear wheelwells of my 70 Chevelle SS on 10" Vette rally wheels.

Re: All of you Day 2 guys!!!!
Once L60 X 15s became available, I ran nothing else on the back of our '69 Chevelle. With the proper back spacing, even larger tires would fit without jacking the rear end a mile in the air. Sticky Polyglas would be great. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/burnout.gif

Sign me up for some L60 X 15's

Re: All of you Day 2 guys!!!!
Those N-50s kind of look like the nitto 315 drag radials on the back of my 99 Camaro SS. I bet it was hard to keep paint on the quarter panels back in those days. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/haha.gif

Only thing your Camaro needs is a drop... I've heard some not so good things about Nittos... how do you like them?
