Rare '65 Superwildcat 4 Speed
A very rare car. Maybe the nearest "Musclecar" to a Cadillac ever ;)
Considering it is a Buick, a 4 Speed, dual quad, and has that Musclecar Look, even it is big as Texas. 85 Coupes built. 65 Custom, 15 Deluxe, 5 Standard. Then there were 21 Convertibles and one 4 door! 2 Ragtops and two Coupes are known to exist. The Coupes are both black, and belong to me and my buddy. Not a lot of people know abut these special cars. For me the 65 Wildcat is one of the best looking cars ever. http://up.picr.de/15793523hn.jpg http://up.picr.de/15792334sg.jpg http://up.picr.de/15789489da.jpg http://up.picr.de/11966317xq.jpg http://up.picr.de/9010744sga.jpg http://up.picr.de/9010743tec.jpg http://up.picr.de/18715347sh.jpg |

Love those. My mechanic had one in his lot for years. It was black. Nice Car!

There was an Older guy that lived across the street from my elementary school back in the early 70's He had a red one . I'll never forget that Rumble !!! Funny how some cars from you childhood are just forever in your brain ?!
|
Hi Jeff, that exactly happened to me. As a kid in the late 70's I found a very used model car, which was a Wildcat from company "Siku" I thought wow. Years later I found a old German car magazine with a 66 Coupe, and then I had it burnt into my brain! ;)
Now I have 4 real ones ... |
Very nice, my buddy had a red 65 deluxe car that was stolen and he still has not gotten over it... Beautiful cars
|
did you import it? or find it over there?
|
Those late Nailhead dual quads ooze cool. Funny, first thing we used to do is toss those snorkel air cleaners. Now you see a big chrome dual snorkel, and jaws drop. I collected all those parts after a buddy donated a '66 425 for my '36. He swears it used to be a dual quad but was outfitted with a single 4 at the time. I always questioned his memory but had to apologize later. After researching, the W code 425s in the second half of '66 could be outfitted with dual quads at the dealer. Only the first half of '66 were they fitted at the factory.

I love this! My first 'real' car was a '66 Skylark GS 401/4-speed convertible so I'm really partial to these.
|
That is so very cool. Thanks for posting!
|
Thanks guys!
I did import it a few years ago. Bought it from the 1st owner! Even have the original Dealer invoice! 70k miles. Right at first the dual quads were only dealer installed, als in the Wildcat GS in '66. The '65 was the last year of the 4 speeds. 466 were built that year. |
Nice!!

Our neighbour had a red one, 4 speed and he drove it like it was stolen. He sold it and bought a yellow COPO '69 Camaro.

Love the Black SuperWildCat. So awesome to have a real 4 speed car. Reminded me of my dad's then new, 64 Super Wild Cat Riviera. He factory ordered it Midnight Blue, blue cloth interior, Dual Quad of course, no A/C. He traded in a White, Red leather 62 Electra 225 convertible for it.
|
Very cool '64!
Thanks for sharing the old picture! Love it! |
Love that! Wouldn’t you really rather be driving a Buick? Many memories growing up in the back seat of mom’s ‘64 ermine white, red leather “deuce and a quarter“ vert.
|
Absolutely LOVE this car!
