I believe this is a member's car. I'd love to own it - talk about RARE.

The documentation is cool but the car has the wrong engine and transmission.

Do you really feel that way or are you being facetious? It’s pretty clear that provenance drives a substantial portion of the car’s market value. That’s not an opinion; that’s the market.

My bad. What do I know.

So, let me know what is so rare on this car? I missed it...

scuncio 01-18-2023 01:43 AM

It's in the title of this post.

LT1vette 01-18-2023 02:10 AM

So, a 67 with a 327/325 is rare? I thought there was a lot MORE than 6

Big Block Bill 01-18-2023 02:54 AM

in 1967 the L-79 (327/325) was coded ZI just like the 1966 Nova L-79 (327/350) but in 1967 the intake was cast Iron not aluminum like the 1966 was. I think a true number in 1967 was 7 documented cars with the L-79.

Now I'm real confused

cook_dw 01-18-2023 11:54 AM

The number of L79 67's has been said by many that follow these cars could be closer to 10-12 cars total built. I know there are at least 5 or 6 accounted for. Only 2 (IIRC) have their original engines. All mid to late June thru early July, qjet carb on iron intake, 12 bolt with 3.07 gear, and Saginaw trans. I'm going off memory so I might not be 100% on my thoughts. There have also been some think that the pop's were misstamped or a few too many and we all know the pop's aren't 100% error proof.

I'm not throwing shade on this car as its all rumors and/or intelligent assumptions. I give them all pause and have my own opinion on these 67 L79 cars but I don't own one and but if I ever do I know the one it will be.

Good luck with the sale Joel. Its a good car IMHO.

One of the best 67 L79 Nova's in existence

So I checked the production#s of the 66&67's. I know of lots of 327-350 cars here in Canada. I was unaware of the low #s for the 67. With the 2 years being so similar in appearance I just presumed there were lots 0f 327-350 cars around...

Bill Pritchard 01-19-2023 12:51 AM

In 66, there were a lot more than 6 or 7 L79 Novas. In 67, a whole different story. For many years, most people were highly skeptical that ANY 67 L79 Novas existed.

What of ‘66 L79 Canadian Acadian production, is 63 Units correct also what’s confirmed of ‘67 Acadian #’s?:hmmm:
‘66 L79 Nova Production @ 5000+ may be correct but always seems more than you’d think, like ‘70 LS6 ‘Velles.:dunno:
:beers:

I know several people that bought brand new ‘66 L79’s. They were cheap, easy to find and were referred to as “350 horse Chevy II’s” or the “Vette motor Nova”.

Geoff Padgett 01-20-2023 02:20 AM

Thats a bad car. I know of a 66 or 67 L-79 car local to me that I once checked the #s and it was the real deal. i don't remember what year. However it is the exact same color combo as this one. Now I got to go see. I work with the guy and he bought it off another guy that sold it to him when he retired about 6 years ago. It was his first car.Tune in.

jeffschevelle 01-20-2023 02:04 PM

I have seen people say all the 67 ChevyII L79's were Saginaw M20 4-spds. But the Chart in post # 16 above shows 2 M21's in 67. That suggests 4 M20's and 2 Muncie M21's.

allcamaro 01-20-2023 02:05 PM

Sold.

scuncio 01-20-2023 02:07 PM

Congrats!

cook_dw 01-20-2023 02:09 PM

Are you at liberty to say where it might be heading? General is fine.
