I couldn't be more pleased to introduce our newest sponsor. Gardner Exhaust has been the go-to supplier for exhaust systems for decades. In fact I purchased my first exhaust system from them in the late 90's. They are recognized for their attention to detail and perfection. If you're looking for a system that fits like a glove and represents the best available, please give them a call. Please give Eric Gardner a warm welcome!!!! He has also been a long time member....

Can anyone shed some light on the rough cost for a 69 Chevelle chambered system?
I've asked the question of Gardner in the past without being given a definitive answer for whatever reason.
Cheers.

I put that exact system on my 70 Monte. I believe it was $1,750 without the rear tips as I had a 52 year old rolled tip pair that was on a 69 chevelle that was made into a race car the first week. Was in an attic for 52 years wrapped up in soft towels. Sounds awesome.

Welcome! The best designed, fitting and sounding exhaust!

Very nice addition to the sponsors!
Eric Gardner takes the time to talk with you and is very friendly.

Both my Survivors have the Gardner system.
It’s a one man job as the fit is perfect.

In 1966 all GTO’s (manual and automatic) received the resonators at the end of the tailpipe.
Gardner’s resonators are almost dead on to factory, plus the expanded end of the tailpipe mates perfectly to the resonators.

I had a pair of NOS resonators in my stash which I elected to use on my ‘66.

Thanks, Chris Terry.

NorCam 03-31-2022 03:26 AM

I have dealt with Eric and Gardner Exhaust on two separate occasions to install a turbo system for the Green 69Z a few years ago, and then a system for the late 69 Lemans Blue Z with the dual resonators. Quality fit and finish every time, and a fantastic company to deal with.

I gotta admit, I wear his T-shirt at least once a week, and my sons favorite drinking glass is also marked by Gardner.

Welcome to the site Eric. I should be calling you for a chambered system on my Yellow Z when the driveline goes back to being stock.

Eric also gets it right on the unique to El Camino and wagon tail pipes, that are mismatched side to side for spare tire well clearance on the wagons.

Eric's systems are spot on.

It was the only assembly that I have ever installed while using nothing but a ratchet and a wrench. And I know most of the guys here know what I am talking about.

It fit like a dream and sounded fantastic.

There is NO better system out there.

Paul

Perfect, thank you.
It's on the radar for my Chevelle, but given I'm in Australia I need to know what I'm getting myself in for as international shipping is now a killer for anything!

I've ordered three of their systems over the years, very happy with all of them. Eric is great to work with and more recently, we got the tailpipes made the correct length to fit perfectly on my '71 Grand Prix. It's these details that make the difference!

gexhaust 04-03-2022 09:05 PM

Thank You Everyone

Wow! Thank you all for the warm welcome.

I'm really touched to hear all the positive accolades. As you may know if we've spoken or assume if we haven't, our work was driven by a passion that was created by my father, Tom Gardner, and instilled in me since I can remember. We were fortunate to build our passion into a business, Gardner Exhaust Systems, on the foundation of perfection and crafting each system individually, and not off of an assembly line. It is my pleasure to be a part of each of of your restorations and seeing and sharing the enthusiasm of bringing these historic treasures back to life. On behalf of my late father, and our team, we are honored to be a member of this forum and thank you all for your continued support. It is truly humbling and appreciated.

Best Regards,

Eric Gardner and the Whole Gardner Exhaust Team

The best exhaust systems out there - thank you Eric

Formula455SD 04-15-2022 04:18 PM

I installed one of their systems on an original paint '72 Trans Am survivor I used to own and it fit like a glove. I have my original paint '70 SS454 survivor on the rack as I type ready to install another Gardner system.

On a side note...
The 66 GTO system did you enhance the weld on the gardner resonator? The weld appears aluminized or coated in the comparison photo VS the on the car shot appears as fresh Heat bluing from a weld.

I ask because as original Camaro chambered systems had the pass exiting tailpipe welded to the chambered pipe... I do the same. I was going to rub some silver paint into the weld, however the NOS piece you have has a very prominent weld showing and makes me wonder whether I should leave the "fresh" weld with heat bluing etc.

60sStuff 04-22-2022 02:08 PM

firstgenaddict,

Sorry, as I just now revisited this thread and read your question.

No, I didn’t do any modifications to the the Gardner resonators. That’s how they looked out of the Gardner box.
The NOS resonators I used obviously show the factory weld, which I prefer.

Thanks, Chris

Best exhaust and unbelievable customer service. I have 6 of their systems, on each collector car I own. Will never use any other, fit and quality bar none. With the new turbo muffler option, best of both worlds. Those solid lifters sound amazing and its concourse correct!

mhm1966 10-27-2022 11:22 PM

If I order an exhaust system for a 1969 small block Camaro how long should I expect to wait?

mhm1966 11-16-2022 06:31 PM

I am going to answer my own question. Eric says 14-16 weeks and maybe as soon as 10-12 weeks.

L78_Nova 11-17-2022 01:50 PM

The good news is (at least for mine) they did beat the quoted leadtime !

69Z11Pacer396 11-17-2022 08:53 PM

Welcome Gardner exhaust! Eric is a stand up guy! Looking forward to getting my chambered system!
