Hey you might be able to trade it straight up for that white string trunk weather strip if the price keeps going up.

Seriously, I believe two things about this sale:

1. I honestly feel you will regret it in a few years (Lord, I hope I am wrong buddy).
2. You are underpriced.

How many original drivetrain Deuces are left? Standard bore? In that good of condition?

We are still a little depressed on prices right now. If a fake L89 brings $200k plus premium, this car has got to be worth at least that.
Smokin deal for the buyer.

Best of luck with the sale.

WOW! That is all I can say. Sam is an outstanding owner and very anal about this car. He stepped up and bought this car in process for our great friend Mr. Sandlin. It was an eye opening experience for me throughout the restoration. This car is one that I hold very high in my life. Good luck with the sale.
Do the Day 2 parts go with the car?

Re: "Roof" Deuce for sale ('70 YENKO Nova)

Sam, tough decision for sure to let it go - but a new caretaker is in order considering you have exhausted the history and restoration and details of such a great car.

This has to be the best Deuce pedigree know to exist (except for Shoney's orig car that he still has). Restoration on this car and the additional day two setup is an amazing piece of documented Yenko Deuce history.

This particular car has the best known pedigree ever - there are many deuces out there, but this one tops it all - especially documented and sold at YENKO Chevrolet - to boot.

Good luck with the sale....truly the best Yenko Deuce to have in a collection - does not get any better than this.

This is one of the coolest frickin Deuces on the planet! If I was one of these millionaire collectors my truck and trailer would be in route to pick this bad boy up RIGHT NOW!

Seriously, the ultimate Deuce trifecta would be this one, Mark Hassett's orange Ohio car, and of course Shoney's!

Sam, it's none of my business, but I hope you have a GOOD reason for parting with this one. WAY to much love's been put into it by you.

Gorgeous Nova. I sat in it's twin in 1970-ish when my dad was shopping for a new car at the local Chevy dealer. Got yelled at by a salesman for shifting the gears pretending to race it. I was 10. I remember thinking what a cheesy interior without a carpet!

More than you might expect! This is likely due to the fact that the Yenko Deuce was never permitted to run in NHRA Stock classes, only the AHRA and NDRA (??, a small sanctioning body in western PA).

I will try to cut/paste an excerpt from a Nova Times article I wrote back in 2011:

&quot;&quot;Once the YDN’s were in owner’s hands, they were generally well cared for. Since these cars were never approved by the NHRA, few were raced competitively and therefore a relatively high percentage (33%) of cars retain their original drive trains. The lowest mile YDN has 6,176 miles while the highest mile YDN has around 130,000. At this time the YDN Registry statistics are as follows:

http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h6...pse87af6b9.jpg

These statistics indicate a few things:
• The survival rate of 51% is in line with other Yenko models, and with the discovery rate slowing to approximately 1 YDN / year on average we expect the survival percentage to remain in this range.
• Certain colors are significantly higher than others, likely indicating popularity in the day - the Forest Green, Citrus Green and Hugger Orange cars for example.
• Other colors, namely Gobi Beige, are significantly lower. This particular color might require an acclimation period for some owners, and the lower discovery percentage is due to this color being the most likely to be repainted - in a different color. A dealer (Stocker Chev, State College, PA) back in the day unflatteringly referred to Gobi Beige as ‘calves (insert: ‘poop’) brown’, it’s no wonder they had difficulty selling theirs! Repainted YDN’s had about a 50% chance of getting their stripes reapplied, whether vinyl or painted, and frequently lost their identity.
• There are 11 cars confirmed as totaled. The most notable of these is a cortez silver 4speed with p/s that was wrecked by Yenko salesperson James Spencer. James suffered a stroke while driving the YDN, and drove head-on into a bridge abutment. James survived, but the totaled YDN was left behind the dealership for several years before being hauled away. That car is still titled under ‘Yenko Leasing’, and was a total write off.&quot;&quot;

<span style="font-size: 14pt">Good stats as per usual Marlin. Re: "Roof" Deuce for sale ('70 YENKO Nova)

A little backdrop on this car. I found this car via a DMV title search back in the late 90's or so, and actually spoke to Earl Roof's father initially. He apparently lived across the street from Earl and Linda, and was kind enough to confirm that they actually had this old car and he gave me their contact info. After speaking to Earl for a while about the car, it was one of the best stories I'd heard - especially their trip to Yenko Chevrolet. Several years later, Brian Henderson and I were out 'Yenko Hunting' one snowy weekend, and I had arranged a visit with the Roof's. What we saw was a great car with excellent speed parts - and some NOS sheetmetal leaning against the wall! Glad to see it in it's current condition, and hope it comes back East so we can see it more often.

Some pics from when Brian and I went to see the car. BTW, that day actually got even better!
