----I love both these Corvettes and had close ties to both. Bob Zimmerman and I saw the roadster in unrestored rough condition at Carlisle. I think the year was around 78-79. The side pipes were so rusted out they were just hanging on by a thread, but the car was complete. We spent probably half that day looking at it but just couldn't make a case for taking it on. The car was Harley Earls and one time while on spring break in Fla I saw it in his driveway in Palm Beach. I was 16 or 17 and tried to walk into his driveway but a caretaker chased me off the property. Later we found out that a good friend of mine, Bob Gold (RIP) and a partner bought it and restored it.
----The coupe came to Classic Motors in Hinsdale from Kentucky. Can't remember how it ended up in Kentucky, but I used to drive it home for lunch. It has had several owner changes since those days, but was nice enough at the time that all we did to it was a quick detail...…..Bill S
