I'll bet that car smelled to the high heavens when they opened the vault up...

Yes that is the same car I knew after seeing the water up to the trunk and the water marks on the cement that the car was toast. What I thought they were going to do is pull a switch with another car that did not look as bad Well at least Boyd will not be messing with it Did you see him throw up his hands when they opened the hood If only they put the car in a big steel drum and weld it shut It would have been ok.
WHAT A WASTE

Well, it seems the people of Tulsa are into Mopar and stashing cars in sealed vaults often.......check this out:

Seems they thought this one out a bit more. I'll bet that this one comes out in much better shape and with that new car smell still fresh. Maybe I'll be there when they open this one up in '48.....one thing is for certain Boyd won't.

Anyone know if Tulsa has anymore cars stashed away?

Brilliant they left the battery connected for the 50 years, a good indicator of all the clear thinking and research they did to entomb this car correctly in 1957. This has been good entertainment and I still would take seeing this rusted hulk over spending time with Boide.

Perhaps choosing somewhere other than under an overwatered lawn at the county courthouse might have helped.
At least they had the foresight to protect the most important part

"A sealed steel capsule buried with the car, however, opened to reveal a pristine 48-star American Flag"
