I highly recommend this movie. It's available free on CRACKLE. It's a combination of Hollywood acting and NHRA provided drag racing footage. It's an origin story and it's a good one.

----This is mostly a good looking 66 442. I really wish that a lot of guys who spend a good amount restoring 65, 66 ,67 442's would spend just a bit more and get the correct chambered tailpipes. Nothing turns me off on these great musclecars more than kooking at stove pipes sticking out the back....Bill S

Joe Bortz is the discoverer/restorer/owner of this one.

It was in the Warhoop's salvage yard near the GM Tech Center, which is were GM disposed of their show, test and other special vehicles.

The owner of the yard couldn't bear to destroy it as told, so he removed the body from the chassis and made one judicious cut across the middle, separating the front half from the back half of the body.

Joe was able to make the purchase of the frame, piece the body back together, and restore the car.

That location (18 & 1/2 Mile Near Van Dyke Rds) is still a salvage yard today, associated with the US Auto Supply brand.
