Hi Keith what an amazing journey you and your father have travelled. Being there along side your dad was true blessing. The level of passion and involvement in racing, car hobby, and historian is astounding. The wealth of knowledge you've shared is very much appreciated by this site and our members!!!!

You might have noticed there will be a new feature My Garage & Story. This thread may be a good fit.

Keith, thank you for putting all of this information together. What a great time in automotive history the 60's were and you and your dad were in the middle of it all.

I guess I'm a little behind in my correspondence;

The GTO made it home from the Gilmore in October of 2021...

Is this some type of "reverse burglary" scheme of yours? You sneak your car into climate controlled museums and make them take care of the car for an entire year at a time as an all-expenses paid, car vacation? You may be on to something. Do they take people as well? I could pack my entire family into the Lincoln and join you.

I admit my motivation is less than pure: free, secure, climate controlled indoor storage for a year.

You could put your family in the trunk, and then emerge in the evenings in a sort of "Night at the Museum" kind of situation.

Way cool Keith! I love this car and its history.

All of that was great to read.

I'm of course curious about the lighter cars, was that something that was done for other years? I'm also curious so were there 2 other 1963 Tempest SD cars in other colors?

Keith Seymore 08-26-2025 02:14 PM

I'm not aware of any light cars for the other model years.

As far as Tempest/Lemans SD cars: There were the 6 white SD coupes, and 6 white wagons (production cars).

In addition there was a blue Mickey Thompson mule car, the grey mule car Bill Blair had, and the red Knapfel mule car that Tim Benko has.
