Makes me want to mount a flag on it like the MOPAR George Washington commercial. LOL

OH, P.S. Paul, Got the orange one off the rack and back home tonight.
I was very shocked at the small amount of change between the different gears; maybe 5mph.
But it's still a blast to drive, and nice weather this weekend allegedly.

Re: Mayhems 71 Nova

Ongoing work-
Finished the Dana rear. Yanked the 496 Dart out and found I was better off going ahead with the full swap.
Skip White Performance 555 Dart being built, about a week from delivery at this point. Fully tweaked
Brodix BB2 heads, all new everything from the Quickfuel 1050 down.
I am going to stick with the 400 trans with brake for now, and add a Gearvendor behind it.
Replacing the 4200 stall with a 3500, which is the minimum the cam calls for.
New steering box, front end work, new 5 pt. harnesses, roll cage pads, new dual fans in shroud, etc.
Just hope we can get it on the road by the end of this month and beat the 100+ temps!

Pics will follow when done. Engine will be all black and aluminum, with a blue electric water pump.
Should look pretty cool but still subdued.

Oh, and the red one was sold to someone on the NHRA Schumaker team.
Guess I need to update my picture.

Re: Mayhems 71 Nova

Well it was more of a pending failure than a choice.
The car was built for the track, especially the engine.
Even though it was putting 800=HP at the crank, it was on its last legs.
This new one should be pushing 800 as well, with the heads and mods done.
We keep hitting BS delays. Having trouble finding the right ARP head bolts
for a Dart Big M block and Brodix BB-2 heads. Every other configuration in the
world is in the books, except that one. It had studs previously that went into
the water jackets. This new block does not. It just arrived Friday. Got a little
done Friday evening before we got to the head bolt issue.

Re: Mayhems 71 Nova

I'm trying my friend.
You know the story...
cubic dollars.
Built a distribution plate and mounted relays and stuff today.
Mounted the new trans cooler, worked on a mock up of the new console.
A little at a time. Once we get the right head bolts it will move pretty quick I think.
We might have those resolved tomorrow if our local shop has ones that will work.
We are having to measure and match to exactly what it needs.

Re: Mayhems 71 Nova

UPDATE-
Got the correct studs in, heads on (with the layered gaskets at $153!!! Ouch),
intake on, timing cover on, old valve covers on until final install into car,
and oil pan on for mock up and to keep from dripping any oil.

Also worked on new radiator and mounting into bay, numerous other mods.
Hope to work on it every night this week and be done by Friday.
